The Buddhas, having realized the interdependent connections that benefit beings, spoke in this way in order to know the places that would not harm the earth lords. Therefore, having offered to the earth deity with milk and other offerings, the one who digs should dispel obstacles with a harmless mind, and contemplate holding a ritual implement marked with a vajra at the tip. Regarding the location for digging, there are two explanations: under the armpit and the abdomen. The former is to create illusion, so at that time, what is sought is vibhuti. From the east, discard twenty-seven parts; from the north, discard fourteen and a half parts; east-west nine parts, north-south five and a half parts. This is to dig first in front of the armpit. Starting from the east, which indicates the direction, and the back, which is north, from the table pressed face up, starting from the east and so on, using the discarded count as a basis, examine carefully. At that time, the aim, action, and manner of doing are also: the person should contemplate themselves as the form of dispelling obstacles, and with a peaceful mind, place the torma inside, or discard it outside in the fire realm, etc. Strive to scatter the earth of the five elements there in the center of the earth with a good mind. In those five elements, many workers should dig in all directions and corners. If the location of the digging is not mistaken, then dharma, wealth, and desired aims will increase. If digging occurs in the nine parts of its body, faults will arise. Therefore, dharma, wealth, and desired aims will increase and be accomplished. If the nine parts where the earth deity resides are dug, then parents, children, sisters, wives, brides, and one's own friends will die. If digging occurs in the back, one will die, or move from one's own place and lose wealth. Finally, elephants, horses, buffaloes, and cattle will die, and strength will also decline. If wood and hair are found within the five elements, anthills, hair, nails, and ashes will cause harm. Stones will bring the fear of wind and chaff, tiles will bring plague, and bones will bring stabbing pain. This is about digging up the pain of the earth. The second is removing the pain of the earth. Vajra Dakini says: With medicine and other special accomplishments, dig between the knees, water channels, and navel, and remove chaff, stones, tiles, coal, and other pains, as well as thorns, etc., and break them. Therefore, in order to obtain great accomplishments.

After accomplishment, the detailed methods for constructing the mandala platform are as follows: For a central-sized (mandala), excavate to a depth reaching the navel; for medium and small ones, excavate to a depth where the lips and knees are submerged, and then remove the soil or loose earth. The more thoroughly the impurities are removed, the greater the accomplishment. The faults of not removing them are stated in the 'Garland Tantra': If it contains stones, there will be great winds; if it contains bones, one will become mute; if it contains chaff and charcoal, there will be epidemics; if it contains hair, roots, wood, etc., minor harms will occur. Furthermore, the 'General Tantra' states: A ground containing impurities will not allow the deeds performed to be accomplished. The faults of impurities are bones, tiles, ashes, stumps, and thorns, which must be diligently and completely removed. If, due to lack of strength, insufficient soil removal, or inability to excavate all parts, the 'General Tantra' states: If one cannot remove them, then it can be transformed by thoroughly purifying with mantra alone. Om, strike, strike, wrath, hum, phat). Then, fill the (excavated pit) with water mixed with good fragrances, except for the removed soil. If it is not full, add other auspicious soil, compact it well, making the center slightly elevated and the east and north sides slightly inclined. The 'Dakini Tantra' states: The center should be written elevated, and the east and north should be inclined, so that the mantra practitioners may attain accomplishment. An elevated center will obtain kingship and the state of vidyadharas. An elevated north will lead to death or loss of wealth, or one will be afflicted by disease. As previously stated, an elevated east will quickly lead to the extinction of lineages. A low center is natural ground, and the practitioner will be subject to destruction. Therefore, the elevation and inclination of the mandala platform itself should be understood in this way. If the platform is suitable for permanent residence, it is best to construct a vase containing medicine, the five precious substances, and the five grains. If not, burying earth treasures with measures to prevent destruction by living beings and moisture is an auspicious component. Thirdly, sprinkle the ground or platform with mustard seeds and water while reciting the mantra for all activities, and then sequentially smear it from the east with the five products of a cow while reciting the same mantra, and also sprinkle it with fragrant water. Rotate the right palm on the ground, reciting: Oṃ
