Having recited "ཧ་ན་ཧ་ན་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊཿ" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning), the light emanating from the hands purifies all impurities. Having recited "ཨཱོཾ་བྷཱུ་ཁཾ་" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning), all objects of the earth are transformed into the nature of space. Separating the fingers and visualizing them as five-pronged vajras, strike the ground while reciting "ཨོཾ་མེ་དི་ནི་བཛྲཱི་བྷ་ཝ་བཛྲ་བྷནྡྷ་ཧཱུྃ།" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning), "ཨོཾ་ཧ་ན་ཧ་ན་བཛྲཱ་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊཿ" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning), thereby binding all the ground up to the Great Powerful One into the nature of vajra. Reciting "ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ ཤོ་དྷ་ཡ་ཤོ་དྷ་ཡ་རཀྵ་རཀྵ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊཿ" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning), thereby purifying, protecting, and stabilizing the faults of the three vajras. Then, if the earth deity was previously placed in the sky, bring it down to the ground, offer torma offerings, and dissolve it into the ground, along with a lotus seat. Reciting the three syllables and the hundred-syllable mantra is called the earth deity blessing the earth. Fourth, it is to equally place the land to be purified and all the elaborations of the purifier into the single dharma nature of no self-nature. As it says in the Abhisamayalankara: "The mantra practitioner dwells in thought, whoever purifies the earth, having completely abandoned the bodhicitta, the secret lord is the master of that, therefore, having abandoned all thoughts, all lands should be well purified." Most of the land rituals up to this point are intended for newly constructing a mandala house that is square, has four doors, and is in accordance with the mandala itself, which has horse landings, as the Dakini says: "On the ground thus purified, in accordance with the mandala, four times the precious and so forth, the house of the mandala should be made." The four times refers to four times the platform on which the mandala is to be made. If an old mandala house is built with colored powders, then the four actions of taking from the non-manifest, and purifying, holding, and protecting with substances, mantras, and samadhi must be done. If it is a painted cloth, then only holding and protecting are sufficient. Fourth, from the state of the deity's yoga, undo the cross-legged posture, stand up, and in order to command the obstacles and subdue the ground, first bless the feet, then proceed with the laying of the foundation, drawing vajras on the ground with the four foot postures, namely the single-pronged vajra, the three-pronged vajra, the five-pronged vajra, and the various vajras, and looking forward with the two eyes of the vajra.
