The main practice is to receive the inner empowerment and uphold the vows, and from the two types of omens, internal and external, the first is to transform the mind: The students bathe, put on new clothes, offer a mandala, and kneel on the ground. In most empowerment rituals, this passage from the common tantras appears, so its meaning needs to be explained. Here, anyone who is dedicated to practicing secret mantras, wishing to attain eminence in this life alone, or wishing to attain eminence in the next life, or neither, the next life being a term for transcendence of the world, therefore aiming for the qualities of definitive goodness, i.e., from the three motivations. The former two both belong to the world of arising and ceasing, therefore one should not pursue what is represented by the term 'this life'. The meaning of the third, the next life, is to aim for the perfection of the five kayas or the two kayas, therefore, through it, one will also incidentally attain the eminent qualities of this and future lives. In the Four Hundred and Fifty Verses, it says: Some are dedicated to practicing secret mantras, therefore they enter the mandala. Some for purposes other than merit, some for the sake of the next world. Those who seek the next world, by increasing faith, the wise should enter the mandala. One should not desire the fruits of this life. If one desires this life, one will not achieve the purpose of the next life. If the thought of seeking the next life arises, the fruits of this life will increase. Thus it is said. The main practice, first, the essential meaning of the inner empowerment is like how the crown prince of a universal monarch needs to be installed as a son of the same lineage, similarly, in order to empower the disciple with the dharma and governance of the Vajra Acharya, the disciple needs to be established as the son of the Vajra Guru. In the Vajra Wrathful Tantra, it says: The disciple should be regarded as the most excellent son, in the mandala of the assembly of blood-drinkers, the empowerment should be fully received. Etc., where it elaborates on how to become a son. Here, for the time being, in general, the light emanating from the seed-syllable in the heart of the guru, visualized as the lord of the mandala, purifies the student's aggregates of karmic ripening. Ripening, namely the seed syllables such as Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽).

Having done so, taking it from the mouth, placing it in the lotus of the consort through the vajra path, transforming it into the form of a deity. With the rays of light from one's own heart, invite the deity who possesses the three seats. After entering from the mouth, transforming into the great bliss bodhicitta nectar that becomes the burning fire of desire, immediately after this empowerment, take it out from the space of the consort and place it at the eastern gate of the mandala, this visualization should be done by the vajra master himself. Connect the fact of calling the disciple "son." Then, calling the lama by the name of Vajradhara as "Great Bliss," and supplicating with the words, "You are my only teacher." As the Vajrakila Tantra says: Of birth, old age, sickness, and death, from the water demon holding an axe of terror, desiring liberation, only you, Great Bliss, you are my teacher. As shown above. After that, showing the aspect of great enlightenment in accordance with the summit. The Indians explain that this refers to the meaning of not being taken away by others. Such rituals, as well as the vows of mantra, tantra, and the four mudras, and the two bodhicittas of aspiration and entry, and taking refuge in the three jewels, etc., supplicate to grant them to me. How are the vows bestowed? In the 'Perfectly Pure Tantra' it says: First bestow the Pratimoksha vows, then bestow the great Bodhi vows, then explain the Madhyamaka teachings, and finally bestow the empowerment of the Fruition Vehicle, and explain the fruition tantras. And in the 'Two Examinations Tantra' it says: First, the sojong should be given, after that, the ten precepts should be given, then explain the Vaibhashika, the Sutra school is also the same. As mentioned above, showing the complete teachings of Sutra and Tantra perfected into one path of secret mantra, is like the tenets of the Mahayoga Sutra school. Similarly, if it is suitable as a basis for the Pratimoksha vows, then before bestowing the Bodhisattva vows, there can also be a ritual of bestowing the Pratimoksha vows up to the level of a lay follower. Therefore, one should understand whether it is suitable as a basis for the vows, and distinguish the special differences of the vows. Any bodhicitta that serves as the basis for bestowing vows, related to taking refuge, is the common vow, namely mantra and paramita.
