Na, may you receive empowerment in life after life. Therefore, in seven lifetimes, even without practice, you will attain accomplishment. Thus it is said. Moreover, in the ultimate sense, the measure of time cannot be grasped, because time is an appearance imputed by conceptual thought. Therefore, until one gains freedom over the mind, places and times, etc., appear as if they each hold their own characteristics. Once freedom over the mind is gained, those places and times are all conventional truths. As stated by the Noble Vimalakirti, "For those who wish to shorten time, may they be blessed to pass many kalpas in seven days." Therefore, although the qualities of attaining a bhumi and the qualities of receiving empowerment differ in terms of miraculous powers, etc., in what is seen directly, in terms of achieving Buddhahood, this (empowerment) is closer in terms of making the result the path, so the path is extremely profound. For example, a person who has received mantra empowerment is like planting a flawless seed in a well-cultivated field. The original ground nature is defiled by two adventitious stains, which are purified by the power of dependent origination. Therefore, since one practices by seeing the fruit of uncontaminated, unborn wisdom, the path is also in accordance with the fruit. Therefore, it is called making the fruit the path, because it is purification in accordance with the nature of things, so it is either adorning the cause with the fruit, or adorning the fruit with the cause. Therefore, it is necessary to ripen solely through empowerment. To ripen in this way, one must thoroughly understand the suchness of empowerment, as stated in the Samputa Tantra: "One who has not entered the mandala, and has abandoned the vows, because he does not know the secret suchness, even if he practices, he will not accomplish anything." And as stated in the Buddha's Crown: "For example, a house without children, is empty as soon as it dies. Similarly, a body without empowerment, is empty of all wisdom. For example, all instruments such as the lute, if separated from the strings, cannot be played. Similarly, without empowerment, mantra and meditation will not be accomplished." Therefore, empowerment should not be regarded merely as an entrance to the path. For example, for gold, there are three methods: burning, cutting, and polishing. Burning is to reveal whether it is real gold, cutting is to know the life of the gold, and polishing is to remove impurities.
