Do not forcibly grant empowerments through violence. Superiors and subordinates should not request to receive them simultaneously. Instead, they should report several months in advance, even with days in between, making requests three times before finally granting them. As stated in the "Fifty Verses on the Guru": "With utmost faith, in the three times, with mandalas and flowers in folded hands, serve and honor the teacher, bowing at his feet with the crown of your head." And so on. As for the application of how to grant it, there are the practice and the ritual of the ground, as well as the preparation and the introduction and maturation of the disciple. Each of the four realizations, if the four complete branches are not complete, one cannot mature due to the deficiency of the ritual. For this, for the qualified teachers who possess the lineage of ordinary beings, even a slight deficiency in the ritual will obscure the state of blessings and accomplishments. If the root of the ritual is deficient, blessings will not arise. Therefore, one must first practice the practice that purifies the teacher's own lineage, and the ritual of the ground that does not infringe upon the basis held by the owner, and the order of preparation that does not prematurely enter the mandala and the disciple's work, and the empowerment after the introduction is sent in advance. The first four branches are: In order to purify the imprints of the four types of birth, relying on any of the realizations, meditating on the three samadhis of the generation stage is the practice. From that, visualizing oneself as the deity is the near practice. Practicing the blessing of the genitals and secret space of the consort, etc. To this, inviting and absorbing the wisdom being, bestowing empowerment, sealing with mudras, etc., is the great practice, as stated in the Tantra of the Great Yoga of Vajrakilaya: "In general, for the certainty of mantra, meditation and speech generation are the practice. Visualizing oneself as the deity is the near practice. Know that generating the consort is the practice. The others are the great practice." And so on. At that time, the amount of recitation and the time of practice are also stated in the Root Tantra of the Compendium: "The recitation of the mandala lord is one hundred thousand, in the degenerate age it is four times." The so-called four times, there are different views on the stages of basic practice and accomplishment practice. In any case, in the Rosary Tantra it says: "Or one hundred thousand of one's own deity, one hundred thousand of the mandala deity." Therefore, for the retinue it is one-tenth, and

Recite the wisdom-bestowing mantra one million times. In this way, after the completion of the basic recitation, it is indispensable to perform actions such as burying salt, offering water, making tsok offerings and torma, and completing the fire offering that makes up for one-tenth of the wisdom-bestowing mantra. Thus, the basic recitation is called establishing an indestructible body in the Vajra City, for the purpose of accumulating merit and eliminating obstacles. Before empowerment, this is indispensable. The glorious Vinaya Sutra says, "If one has not done the recitation beforehand, the teacher and disciple will be harmed." This means that if one fails to complete the recitation that pleases the deity, there will be great faults. The benefits of completion are: The Four Seats Sutra says, "Having done the recitation beforehand, if one then undertakes a task, it will surely be accomplished without doubt." This is the meaning (in the text). Second, the four branches of the earth ritual are: Many people abandon the selection of land because the mandala is an old house. However, here, the five steps of selecting land, taking land, purifying land, holding land, and protecting land are described in sequence. First, examine the place, direction, and characteristics of the place suitable or unsuitable for building a mandala. The Vajra Dakini Sutra says: "Villages and charnel grounds, markets and gardens, as well as temples and cities, the eastern and northern foundations are auspicious. The southern and western directions are not so." This means that the foundations of the east and north of the six places and the outer periphery measured from there are auspicious places. Since the classifications of each tantra differ, it is difficult to judge, but for yogis, there is no restriction on naturally bringing happiness. "Or wherever the mind pleases, draw mandalas in those places." And the General Tantra says: "Perfectly complete, all are virtuous, such gatherings are truly difficult to obtain. In short, a flat ground, radiant and leaning eastward is excellent. A place with abundant water, adorned with good trees, a place where one's mind is happy, a wasteland without harm or thorns, is an auspicious place for the mandala, and can obtain all the accomplishments of humans and gods." The "thorns" mentioned here refer to the five tastes of the soil, which will be explained below. In addition, there are gravel, cliffs, pits, anthills, saline-alkali land, ashes, dust, hair, worms, and many creatures.
