From the Sutra of Distinction by Thought: Not thinking is generosity, not abiding is discipline, not distinguishing anything is patience, having no acceptance or rejection is diligence, being without attachment is concentration, and being non-dual is wisdom. Furthermore, as stated in the Vajra Samadhi Sutra: If the mind does not waver in emptiness, the six perfections are gathered. Thus, the ten perfections and ten grounds are combined by skillful means and wisdom. Above that, the result of the skillful means of these grounds is: skillful means and wisdom, the supreme of skillful means. Thus, the eleventh ground is the Ground of Universal Light, which radiates light everywhere, making all beings to be tamed suitable vessels, hence it is commonly known as such. What is called the supreme of wisdom is the non-learning union, which, while not moving from the Ground of Universal Light, possesses wisdom that is without attachment and without obscurations, and the supreme of compassion without object, is the Ground of the Unstained Lotus. Although pervading all of samsara and nirvana, it is not stained by the mud of existence, hence it possesses the expression of the Lotus. What is called the most excellent is the ground that has become the most excellent of both skillful means and wisdom. Through such blessings, the body, speech, and mind of the Buddhas are inexhaustible, and the qualities of the wheel of adornment are spontaneously and completely accomplished. Thus, the secret of the body is inconceivable, the secret of speech is inconceivable, and the secret of the mind is inconceivable, all three are inexhaustible and have all aspects. Among them, the secret of the body is inconceivable, because even the lords of the ten grounds cannot comprehend its limit. Because it has all aspects, it shows whatever body is to be tamed. The speech teaches the Dharma in the languages of the six realms. The mind knows the wisdom of things as they are and as many as they are in an instant, so it is also called the wisdom of all aspects. What is called adornment is adornment because it is beautiful for both oneself and others. The wheel is the wheel because the activities of benefiting beings are continuous, that is, the continuity of both accomplishing meaning and having accomplished meaning, until samsara is not empty, there is always a constant wheel. Therefore, it is called the ground of the great assembly of the wheel of letters, or the supreme ground of skillful means and wisdom. Even so,

In many tantras of Sakya and Nyingma, the way of traversing the bhumis and paths is bound by Vajra words, but it is not seen that the Chinese and Tibetan masters agree on this completely. For example, in the Guhyasamaja, there are five stages: First, with karmamudra, the eighth bhumi is attained, the third appearance is attained, and one abides in the tenth bhumi. Some people think that the boundary of entering mantra is from the tenth bhumi, in the manner of adding something extra to the path at the end of traversing the bhumis and paths with the characteristic vehicle. Moreover, among the two cases of attaining enlightenment in one lifetime and the final existence, the latter does not need to start from the generation stage and practice up to the isolation of mind, but it is enough to meditate from the illusory body. They think that the secret empowerment is conferred in the evening, the illusory body is manifested, the third empowerment is conferred at midnight, the clear light is manifested, the fourth empowerment is conferred at dawn, and the non-learning union is manifested, and that enlightenment can be attained in one night. They think that traversing up to the tenth bhumi by one's own path of the characteristic vehicle is enough to replace the arising in the continuum from the generation stage to the isolation of mind. However, there are obstacles from other doctrines, because the sutra explicitly says that one awakens from the samadhi of immovability, enters the clear light, and attains the union from that. If so, the clear light and the union become the common path of sutra and tantra, and then the illusory body and so on also become common. Since the sutra is quoted in this case, it shows the boundary of entering mantra from the path of the sutra. Therefore, in the case of all five stages, quoting the sutra similarly shows the boundary of entering mantra from the respective sutra paths. In particular, in the third stage, it is said: "The stage of blessing oneself, which cannot be obtained by what, in the sutra, tantra, and conceptualization, that will be a meaningless effort." Therefore, even if one strives to practice the path of the sutra, those efforts will be in vain. Therefore, those who claim that the Dharma language of the outer tantras is consistent with the inner tantras, regard the difference in the power and ability of ordinary yogis and yogis of high bhumis, which is as different as heaven and earth, as being equivalent, which is too extreme, as stated by vast scriptural and logical proofs.
