Some mediocre people think they have realized emptiness and act arbitrarily. They think they have realized it, but in reality, it is an unadulterated manifestation of non-realization. Therefore, for those with mental defects, the path of mantra is very dangerous. After gaining a little warmth of experience, do not forget the order of permission and prohibition, and keep it in mind day and night. Through thinking and discernment, if it contradicts the vows, abandon it; if it does not contradict, practice it. However, as long as there is doubt in the mind, karma and karmic results will inevitably follow. Therefore, one must understand the characteristics of misdeeds that are not related to time and always learn the Samantabhadra practice with shame. Third, the superior vows come from the "Tantra of the Great Nirvana of Vajrakilaya": Do not kill the lion, the king of beasts; do not consume food mixed with evil poison; do not cut the roots of precious trees; do not drink melted snow water; do not open the stamens of blooming lotuses; do not pour essence into containers with holes; do not mix unchecked wealth and food; do not throw white crystal balls into the mud; do not squeeze lion's milk into inferior containers; do not burn wish-fulfilling jewels in the stove; do not break the wings of the Garuda, the king of birds; do not strike the iron claws of the sky on the ground; do not eat the leftovers of food after tigers and leopards have played with them; do not destroy the rocks sealed by vajras; do not demolish the walls surrounded by vajra fences; do not extinguish the lamps that dispel darkness; do not cut the dikes of vajra rivers; do not give away the seals of kings; do not overturn the foundations sealed by vajra castles; do not decorate the flags with precious jewels at the top with objects of desire. These, with obscure words, speak of abiding in common and special vows, and especially need to be guarded on occasions such as gatherings, which are the superior vows. The order is: do not despise the guru, do not harm the consort, do not interrupt the assembly of faithful ones, do not defile wealth, do not drink alcohol that leads to downfall, do not enjoy the consort of a dharma brother, do not mix bad names, do not rely on wealth possessed by ghosts and disputes, and do not eat unblessed food.

Do not eat meat. Do not practice the awakening mind. Do not impart instructions to those who are not vessels. Do not abandon disciples who are vessels. Combine the meaning of inseparable father and mother with bliss and emptiness. Do not engage in internal strife between siblings. Do not consume leftovers from others. Do not defile the seat of the guru. Do not break the vows of oneself and others. Do not separate meditation and insight. Do not interrupt the continuity of recitation and rituals with words. Do not transgress the mudras of empowerment, and do not reveal the secret language spoken in the tantras to others. Do not disturb the mandala, and do not dispel the power of decline. Do not abandon the lineage master, the guru, and so on. Thus, the twenty-five vows of Kalachakra. Among them, in the Kalachakra it says: the five roots of training, the five near sins, the five killings, the five miserlinesses, and the five desires, that is, the meaning of the twenty vows of abandoning the five sets of five. First, abandoning the five sins is: even harming the lives of the smallest creatures, what need is there to say about causing suffering at all times and places, speaking falsehoods with a deceptive mind, stealing even the possessions of animals, engaging in sexual misconduct with desire, the source of all decay, intoxicating oneself with alcoholic beverages, these five are like iron hooks that bind one to samsara, destroying all the roots of virtue of oneself and others, therefore one should abandon all similar things. If one cannot protect these five, then the remaining vows are not given either, hence they are called the five roots of training. Second, the five near sins are: gambling such as throwing dice, impure foods such as meat killed for consumption and value, frivolous speech such as talk of war and trade, delighting in the religion of spirits such as offering sacrifices to ancestors and cattle for the sake of the sick, not eating anything other than meat killed by oneself, and only consuming white clothing and beverages of birds, etc., having the behavior of non-gods, practicing the religion of outsiders, etc., these five are near sins, therefore one should abandon them. Third, the five killings are: killing cows with the aim of offering sacrifices in order to desire higher realms, killing children to offer to mother goddesses,

Killing a man for the sake of a man, and killing a woman for the sake of a woman, these are the two maternal sacrifices. The so-called killing of the teacher of gods and humans refers to the destruction and demolition of the statues of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, scriptures, and stupas, which are referred to by the word "killing." These are the sects of the heretics who speak of harming as a religion, and they sometimes consider great sinful deeds to be virtuous, so the first of the five sins is separated and explained for the purpose of reversing it. Therefore, killing livestock under the pretext of offering to the Three Jewels, even if one does not understand the heretical sects, one is learning to be similar in behavior. The fourth is the five angers: being angry and resentful towards the five objects of virtuous friends, elders of the lord, Buddha, Sangha, Lama, and Khenpo (preceptor and teacher). These four sets of five things should be restrained by mind and avoided through behavior. The fifth is the five attachments: from all the Mahayana scriptures, represented by "the feeling arising from the condition of the contact of the gathering of the eyes," up to the body. Because the sense consciousnesses are interdependent, they become attached to and cling to the five objects, and ultimately become actions that can project rebirth, so these should be avoided. Therefore, the way to avoid them is to transform the sense objects, as well as what is touched and the sense of touch, etc., into deities through the generation stage; and through the completion stage, with the wisdom of individually gathering them, to cut off the continuity of the five senses entering the five objects. In the Sutra of the Heap of Jewels, it says: 'Light Protector, in the future, there will be monks with pride, like a dog chasing a stone. Light Protector, how is it like a dog chasing a stone? The dog is afraid of the stone itself, so it chases the stone itself, not the person who threw the stone. Light Protector, similarly, some monks and Brahmins are diligent in their individual perceptions of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, and although they recognize them as impermanent, deceptive, and destructive dharmas, they do not know where they come from. Even if they go to villages, cities, towns, regions, places, and around the palaces of kings, they are still attached to form.'
