Generally, it is important to strive to make the bindu enter the essential point. In particular, the body's channels, like irrigation ditches, are the pathways for the flow of prana, so one should purify the channels by relying on life-sustaining prana. The support of speech is prana, which is like a helmsman navigating both samsara and nirvana, so one should be skilled in the essential points of binding the activities of samsara. The support of mind is the bindu, which is the very support of ultimate bodhicitta, so one should rely on the essential points of prana, gather it at the place of guidance, and bind it together with the unchanging wisdom prana at the crown of the head. Furthermore, if considered from the perspective of action mudra, it is said in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Desiring to explain the nature of bindu, from the ultimate and the conventional, temporarily relying on the conventional bindu, those who desire to attain Buddhahood." It is also said: "The object of reliance itself and the channels, and the objects of focus, perfect the body. Then, the conventional bindu itself, thoroughly bound, held, and reversed, implanted in the channels and mixed with prana. Severing the intellect that explains emptiness. Reversing the body and mind itself. By relying on the ultimate bindu, one finds the realms of the empty dharmakaya." How to bind? By straightening the body, the channels are straightened. By straightening the channels, the prana is straightened. By straightening the prana, one sees the nature of non-conceptual reality, so the essential point of the body is the seven dharmas of Vairochana, or by pointing the crown straight up to the sky, the back of the neck becomes straight and the throat slightly curved, thus binding the channels of the crown, back of the neck, and throat. By straightening the body without tilting, one binds the channels of the forehead, ears, center of the eyebrows, and tip of the nose. The way of looking, turning upwards, and raising the arms high, binds the channels of the eyes, mouth, and shoulders. By not spreading the elbows outwards but pressing them against the ribs, one binds the channels of the armpits. By straightening the spine and keeping it without bending, one binds the channels from the breasts, heart, navel to the perineum. By placing the bones of the wrists on the hip bones, one binds the channels of the thighs. By placing a cushion on the meditation seat, sitting in vajra posture on the cushion, and remaining motionless for a long time, one binds the genitals, anus, knees, shins, ankles, big toes, and toes.

It is the method of binding the channels. Thus, when the main channels are bound, the seventy-two thousand branch channels that branch out from them are also bound. When the air that flows in these channels is bound, the discriminating thoughts that ride on the air are also bound. When the air and discriminating thoughts become unmoving, happiness naturally arises. The tantra also says: Bind the three channels of the higher realms above the eight planets, gather the three channels of the lower realms below the branches, open the door of the sky, fill with air to control, these three are the quick path of mantra. The twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths of thought, through the endurance of upper and lower binding, is the path of endurance. Through meditation, without obstacles such as sinking and excitement, strive for the five root airs and branch airs. Thus, through posture and so on, clearly visualize the three channels and six chakras. Furthermore, through skillful means, the twenty-one knots on the central channel make the air-mind workable, as well as the power of increasing the two accumulations, and at the three times of death, the air enters the central channel, and the knots are gradually released, so the union of air and mind produces the four wisdoms of appearance, increase, attainment, and near attainment, as well as the accumulation of qualities such as samadhi and clairvoyance. The tantra says: After the union of male and female, one cannot speak in unconscious bliss. Likewise, in fainting or at the time of death, the air enters the dhuti channel, and one cannot remember anything. Therefore, the avadhuti is the channel of inconceivable dharmadhatu wisdom. And so on. In general, relying on the three entering, abiding, and rising of air, when entering the central channel, visualize right rotation when rising and left rotation when entering. Like this, the function of the right roma is to generate outward-spreading air, which exists in the air of samsara, so the channel opening also faces upward. The function of the left rasana is the air that enters inward, the air that is gathered, which exists in the air beyond suffering, so the channel opening also hangs downward. As the Compendium of Origins says: Air travels above samsara, the one beyond suffering travels below. Like that. Furthermore, the central channel of dharmata is existent but not substantial, so it is Rahu. Outwardly, its head and tail devour the sun and moon, inwardly, it is the nature of the white and red essences, both A and Ham.
