Regarding individual contemplation, one should also contemplate all sentient beings with great compassion. So it goes. Like this, this path that combines skillful means and wisdom allows one to realize the Middle Way, which is free from the extremes of addition and subtraction. Specifically, wisdom can eliminate the extreme of addition, and skillful means can eliminate the extreme of subtraction. The sutra also says: The Tathagata is born from skillful means and wisdom, and it should also be understood that the state of relying on others also exists. The Noble 'Generating the Power of Faith' also says: Skillful means refers to that which perfectly gathers all dharmas. What is wisdom? It is that which is skilled in understanding that all dharmas are without distinction. These two, skillful means and wisdom, should be practiced at all times, even by those who have attained the bhumis; one should not practice only wisdom. If skillful means is without wisdom, even if it has great diligence, it will only be bound by inverted wrong views, like the paths of non-Buddhists. Similarly, if wisdom is without skillful means, it will be like the Shravakas, because it does not possess great compassion, it will tend towards the one-sided extinction of Nirvana. Therefore, even if the practice of relying on skillful means does not arise in the state of profound samadhi, skillful means and wisdom enter simultaneously during the stage of application or subsequent attainment. According to this method: Wherever emptiness and compassion, rely on the continuum, is the great accumulation path. Application path and the supreme dharma, emptiness and compassion appear in equipoise and subsequent attainment. After saying this, like this, in equipoise, one cultivates emptiness, and in subsequent attainment, one engages in the accumulation of all merit and wisdom, such as generosity, which has compassion as its essence. This is the path of accumulation. As the basis for the newly arising Mahayana Bodhicitta, after first attaining Mahayana Bodhicitta, one can enter the small path of accumulation. From the perspective of specific methods of cultivation, the path of accumulation has three types: great, medium, and small. In the small path of accumulation, one first cultivates the four mindfulnesses, the first of which is mindfulness of the body. In equipoise, one cultivates it like the sky, and in subsequent attainment, one cultivates impurity and illusion. In mindfulness of feeling, no thought arises in equipoise, and in subsequent attainment, one contemplates that all feelings are suffering and without essence, like a banana tree. Mindfulness of mind is

In co-emergence, emptiness by nature, in subsequent attainment, neither rejecting nor dwelling, one meditates. Dharma mindfulness is equality in co-emergence, and in subsequent attainment, one meditates on the eight similes of illusion, etc. Thus, by meditating on the four mindfulnesses in the small, one enters the four truths of the path of seeing. In this way, first, by the mindfulness of the body, one knows the body as suffering, thus entering the knowledge of suffering. Second, knowing feelings as suffering, one enters the abandonment of the origin. Third, meditating on the mind as impermanent, one enters the manifestation of stopping the clinging to permanence. Fourth, meditating on the dharma as without self, one turns away from clinging to self and enters the meditation on the path. As the Madhyāntavibhāga says: "To turn away from bad states and the cause of existence, to turn away from its basis and not be confused, if one wishes to enter the four truths, one should meditate on the mindfulnesses closely established." Thus it is. In the middle stage of the accumulation path, one does not generate any unwholesome dharmas that have not yet arisen, and for those that have arisen, one cuts off their continuity. One generates wholesome dharmas that have not yet arisen, and for those that have arisen, one engages in diligence for the sake of increasing them, and one meditates on the antidote of selflessness and illusion or dreams, etc., or as that very text says: "Unfavorable factors and antidotes, having fully known all aspects, diligence arises greatly in four aspects for abandoning the unwholesome." Thus it is. In the great accumulation path, the four legs of miraculous power are: the miraculous power based on the samādhi of desire, diligence, mind, and investigation, and the superknowledges and eyes, etc., are accomplished by the power of the mind of meditative concentration being workable, therefore it is called the legs of miraculous power. As the former text says: "That dwelling is workability itself, all meanings will be attained." Thus it is. After that, the path of application is that which quickly combines the non-conceptual wisdom with the path of seeing. The support of the body is any one of the five realms of beings, and the support of the mind is any one of the six dhyāna grounds. Thus, in the two, heat and peak, one meditates on the five faculties of faith, diligence, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom. In the two, forbearance and supreme dharma, one meditates on the five powers, such as the power of faith, which are in harmony with the faculties. As the Madhyāntavibhāga says: "The five faculties and the five powers, the two that are in harmony with the decisive, two and two thus spoken." Thus it is. That is also the pure aspect.
