What are their natures? The fourth has five subdivisions. The first is the difference in antidotes and the difference in what is abandoned. The first of these is from the Ratnagotravibhāga: "Whatever conceptualization is stinginess, etc., is considered an obscuration of affliction. Whatever conceptualization is of the three spheres is considered an obscuration of knowledge." Therefore, all the imputed obscurations of affliction are those to be abandoned by seeing. Therefore, the difference in antidotes that uproot their seeds, the four kṣāntis of dharma, are the path of immediate proximity. The four jñānas of dharma are the dependent antidote, the path of liberation. The four anvayakṣāntis and the four anvayajñānas are the path of superior antidotes that prolong the process. That is, the four jñānas of dharma of suffering, origin, cessation, and path, just as the nature of one intelligence is divided into the four aspects of the four truths, so too are their respective anvayakṣāntis and anvayajñānas the same. The second is the difference in what is abandoned, which has two aspects: nature and classification. The nature is from the Madhyāntavibhāga: "The obscuration of affliction and the obscuration of knowledge are shown as two. There, all obscurations, when exhausted, are considered liberation." Therefore, from the perspective of its own nature, it is liberation from both the affliction obscurations and the knowledge obscurations that are to be abandoned by seeing. That is, whatever does not completely pacify the mind, whether it is unwholesome or obscured and unspecified, the affliction obscurations of stinginess, etc., and the wholesome with outflows that clings to the three spheres as real, or the unspecified nature that is not obscured, the conceptualizations of the object of apprehension and the subject of apprehension, are the knowledge obscurations. Among these, the imputed affliction obscurations are those to be abandoned by seeing, while the innate ones are those to be abandoned by meditation. Furthermore, the gross conceptualizations of subject and object apprehension of the knowledge obscurations are those to be abandoned by seeing, while the subtle ones are those to be abandoned by meditation. The classification is, in general, whatever imputed things are obstacles to the path of seeing. Among these, there are two aspects: classification and the way of abandoning. The first is divided into two: classification from the perspective of nature and classification from the perspective of the way of engaging in error. The first is the five: desire, anger, pride, ignorance, and doubt. The second is the five: view of the transitory collection, view of holding to extremes, wrong view, view of holding views as supreme, and view of holding ethics and discipline as supreme, totaling ten. Thus, observing

When entering the four noble truths such as the truth of suffering that is desired, following the five non-views, there are ten each, hence forty. On top of that, in the four truths of the two upper realms, other than anger, there are nine each entering, hence the four truths of the meditators have thirty-six. The four truths of the formless realm also have thirty-six, totaling one hundred and twelve to be abandoned by seeing, in terms of the way of entering through objects, realms, and inversions. In the Compendium, it says: One hundred and twelve afflictions are the kinds of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing. Second, the way of abandoning is: with the decisive part of the similar path, the seeds of what is to be abandoned by seeing are abandoned in a way of suppressing them; with the forbearance of knowing the Dharma, etc., they are abandoned in a way of eradicating them. That is, for each moment of the four truths and what is to be abandoned, antidotes are made in sequence; for the arising of wisdom, the two paths of uninterruptedness and liberation are not seen when Dharma-forbearance arises, hence it is called the path of seeing. As it says in the Sutra of the Ten Bhumis: When a Bodhisattva abides in suchness, at that time he enters the first bhumi, and from then on gradually purifies the upper bhumis completely and enters the Tathagata-bhumi. At that time, by realizing the difference that the realm of Dharma pervades everything, self and other, with the supreme Bodhicitta of equality of self and other, benefiting others as one's own benefit, hence the perfection of generosity is the most excellent. The distinction of its qualities is that there are one hundred and twelve kinds of qualities that can be shown in an instant, as well as eyes, clairvoyance, and immeasurable miracles. That is, from being able to see the faces of one hundred Buddhas in one hundred moments, to being able to hold the birth of the king of Jambudvipa, as explained in the sixth chapter, and from then on in the path of meditation of the noble ones: At the end of the ten bhumis continuum, with the wisdom of the Vajra-like Samadhi, destroying the obscurations of knowledge, manifest enlightenment. From then on, the remainder is the nature of the path of meditation. The basis of the body is not certain whether it is a male or female being of the three realms, and there are many births in the desire and form realm gods, etc. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: Intentionally taking existence, etc., therefore one can also be born in other places.
