This is the completion of the path of the union of calm abiding and insight. At that time, the direct perception of a Bodhisattva that can arise is from the Yogācārabhūmi of the Bodhisattva grounds. So, what is the power of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? It is called power when the mind is workable, the mind is extremely well cultivated, mastery is obtained over samādhi, and all things are accomplished by mere desire based on samādhi. It is said. That power also becomes fivefold by way of division, namely the power of direct perception, the power of Dharma, the power of co-emergence, the power common to Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and the power that is uncommon. Having divided it thus, the power of direct perception is as before, and the others are to be understood from that. At those times, the difference between the meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment of the mundane and supramundane is that in the appearance of meditative equipoise, the object of appearance appears without interruption, but it is purified from conceptual thought. The part of the appearance, such as matter and the five objects, appears as usual, so it is also labeled as mundane. When,

How does one enter into meditative equipoise? Thus it is said. Furthermore, if measured from the perspective of the three samadhis—the Samadhiraja Sutra, the Noble Heroic Progress, and the Vajra-like Samadhi encompassed by the Uninterrupted Path—the first is that, from the samadhi of seeing all mundane dharmas as the eight examples of illusion and being fully accustomed to them, the general characteristics of compounded phenomena, the five skandhas, the order of arising of existence, and especially the skandha of consciousness, which is the maker of all, are seen as illusory, appearing without root or basis, and one is immersed in the illusion-like meditative equipoise and gains mastery. Having gained mastery from meditative equipoise, one also sees it in the post-meditation state, and because this samadhi is continuous, the obscuration of emanation is completely purified. Like a magician, one performs the activities of emanation as desired and gains power, which is called illusion-like samadhi. The second is that the stainless samadhi of the bodhisattva's tenth bhumi, the great deeds accomplished by the wisdom of the post-meditation state, are practiced like those of the Tathagata, but there is no fear of falling into nirvana without remainder, and there is no need to prevent it, so its activity surpasses all the characteristics of the lower bhumis. Even after becoming a Buddha, the activity of showing the form body is the Heroic Progress Samadhi itself. For example, when a hero enters battle, he is accompanied by the four divisions of the army, and when a Chakravartin king goes forth, he is also accompanied by the seven precious things. Just as a brave and courageous person abides in the sound, meaning, and etymology of overcoming the enemy, wherever a bodhisattva who has attained this samadhi goes, all the dharmas of the path to enlightenment follow, so it is called the Heroic Progress Samadhi. The stage at which the power of this samadhi is perfected is the eighth bhumi itself. There is also a way to practice the path that is in accordance with it for those on the path of accumulation, but it is merely practice based on aspiration. The third is the Uninterrupted Path that abandons the ninth abandonment of the peak of existence, as it says in the Treasury of Knowledge: 'The ninth Uninterrupted Path is like a vajra.' Just as a vajra destroys all things, so too does this destroy all subtle defilements, so it is called the Vajra-like Samadhi. Furthermore, this path encompasses both the lower and higher paths.
