Moreover, regarding the section on the ground, the section on expressing realization, the section on such occurrences, the section on the generations of beings, the section on vastness, the section on wondrous Dharma, and the section on definitive teachings, whatever is taught to the Bodhisattvas, the Bodhisattva listens well, holds well, masters recitation, contemplates well with the mind, and thoroughly understands through seeing. Then, dwelling alone in solitude, he applies proper attention, remembering those Dharmas that he has contemplated well. With whatever mind he remembers, that mind constantly and continuously remembers, thus he remembers. Having entered in this way and remained in it many times, there arises a great pliancy of body and a great pliancy of mind, which is called quiescence (śamatha). Thus, the Bodhisattva seeks complete quiescence. Having attained great pliancy of body and great pliancy of mind, he abides in it, abandoning mental wandering. Those Dharmas that he has contemplated well, he individually contemplates as images in the realm of samādhi within his mind, and he believes in them. Thus, in those images in the realm of samādhi, the discrimination, complete understanding, complete examination, desire, differentiation, view, and consideration of the meaning of what is to be known are called insight (vipaśyanā). Thus, the Bodhisattva is skilled in insight. As the Blessed One said. Thus, the insight in the state of equipoise on the worldly path is of the nature of discrimination. However, when the equipoise that directly realizes the nature of reality, the wisdom of self-awareness, enters the continuum, one attains the state of an Ārya, which transcends the world. Therefore, it engages in abandoning the obscurations to knowledge, and its nature is as stated in the "Akṣayamati-sūtra": From the rubbing of two sticks, fire arises; having arisen, it burns the very sticks. Likewise, when the power of wisdom is born, that which is born burns itself. Thus, from the signless quiescence, the wisdom of discrimination, the signless insight does not discriminate.
