Furthermore, the reality of all dharmas is equal in being pure by nature and without one or many. As the "Arya Hundred and Fifty Verses" says: "Everything is the nature of space, and space also has no nature. By practicing the nature of space, everything is perfected into the supreme equality." Thus it is said. The hidden meaning for other meanings is that the self-nature of the completely imputed is without self-nature, because it is not established in the ultimate sense; the arising of the dependent is without self-nature, because the arising from the four possibilities is not established. In this way, arising from oneself is impossible, because the one that arises and the arising are contradictory in an instant; arising from another is impossible, because if one analyzes other and otherness, it is not established. Arising from both is also impossible, because they are contradictory. If there is no cause, then the result of arising will be cut off. However, merely the arising and so on that correspond to what appears are only like a dream or an illusion, appearing from dependent origination. As Manjushri's Dream Sutra says: "Manjushri, a dream appears but is not real. Likewise, all dharmas appear but are not real." And so on, it is widely taught. The perfectly established is the ultimate absence of self-nature, because the nature of self abides in the ultimate, so there is no nature of elaboration such as impurity. Its meaning is also stated in the Explanation of Intentions Sutra: "With the intention of the absence of self-nature of characteristics, the absence of self-nature of arising, and the absence of self-nature of the ultimate, I have taught that all dharmas are without self-nature." Thus it is taught, and it should be understood that this is the truth of the great essential point of the sutras of definitive meaning. The hidden meaning for other times is: "Whoever holds, recites, or reads this aspiration of the Practice of Good, the Buddha knows its ripening result. Do not doubt the supreme enlightenment." Like this, merely relying on it, without depending on other causes and conditions, one will not attain enlightenment, but considering that one has previously accumulated a great collection of merit, at some point it will become like a boatman crossing the ocean of samsara. The hidden meaning for individuals is: For those who boast of generosity and cling to discipline, both of these are disparaged, while patience and diligence are praised. Like Light Protector, for example, one pays homage to the waxing moon, but not to the full moon. Light Protector,

Likewise, those who have great faith in whatever should prostrate to the Bodhisattva. Not to the Tathagatas. It is said like that. In general, arrogance and the 'manifest' of clinging to characteristics are great obstacles contrary to the six perfections, etc. In the chapter of the Emanation of Manjushri, it says: Son of the gods, the more you engage in activities, the more it is the work of Mara. The more you desire, the more you cling, and the more you cling supremely, the more it is the work of Mara. The more you desire, the more you perceive, the more you are arrogant, and the more you realize, the more it is the work of Mara. Son of the gods, furthermore, clinging to the mind of enlightenment is also the work of Mara. Clinging to the mind of generosity is also the work of Mara. Likewise, clinging to the mind of discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom is also the work of Mara. And so on, it is extensively explained. The second aspect is the hidden intention: The hidden intention is for any disciple whose mind cannot comprehend and who is in a state of doubt, to lead them onto the correct path in a roundabout way, using names and terms that they like, explaining things in a way that the words agree but the meaning does not. As it says in the Nirvana Sutra: "Bhagavan, what is called a word of hidden intention?" Avalokiteshvara, a word of hidden intention is when the Tathagata says 'completely passed into nirvana,' but now the Tathagata says 'constant, stable, peaceful, true, and even though passed into nirvana, unchanging.' This sutra is a word of hidden intention. Furthermore, a hidden intention is when one wishes to truly take care of another, but speaks in a way that deviates from the apparent statement. As it says in the chapter of Ajatashatru: Then King Ajatashatru, in his own house, saw those Bodhisattvas and great Shravaka disciples washing their bowls and hands. He sat before Manjushri, who had become a youth, in order to hear the Dharma. Manjushri, please dispel my regret. Manjushri said: Great King, your regret cannot be dispelled even by Buddhas and Bhagavantas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges.
