Suffering on dangerous cliffs, engaging in actions, etc., in short, almost all ten non-virtuous deeds are experienced in an imperceptible way, thus the ripening is extremely dark. Even if one becomes wealthy, one does not know contentment. Enemies and thieves are numerous. There is fear of the enjoyment itself decreasing, hope for increase, fighting and arguing with others, etc. The more wealth there is, the greater and more numerous the sufferings. As it was said before: Because of possessions, there is strife; without possessions, there is no strife. From completely abandoning possessions, the happiness of a water bird increases. For example, when a water bird catches a fish, as long as it does not give up that fish, it will be chased and fought over by other water birds. As soon as it gives up the fish, the fighting ceases, and it dwells in happiness. Similarly, the more possessions there are, the more suffering of fighting and arguing there will be. But for those who have abandoned all possessions and have nothing, there is no torment of suffering, and happiness is attained. Therefore, those without wealth are the opposite, with fewer activities, it is easier to accomplish meditation. Especially: Among all riches, contentment is the most supreme, so said the teacher of gods and humans. Always be content, if you know contentment, even without wealth, you have true riches. As quoted before. The faults of associating with ordinary people are: The nature of ordinary beings is childish, and childish people are enveloped by clouds of faults. They praise themselves and proclaim the bad reputation of others. They rely on the rough tongue of the afflicted serpent. They think that any fluctuating wealth is permanent. They are ungrateful and distort the image of satisfaction. The flames of resentment are fanned by the winds of slander. Like monkeys, they inflict various harms. Like crocodiles, they widen the belly of sin. Like venomous snakes, they destroy whoever they meet. Like fire, they burn the trees of virtue. One should keep far away from the company of childish people. Therefore, the nature of childish ordinary beings is afflicted, so they regard their own faults as virtues. They are also skilled at proclaiming the virtues of others as bad reputations. Because they cannot control their afflictions, they increase wildness and sinful dharmas. The nature of samsara is fluctuating and suffering, but they think it is permanent and happy.
