Through the arising of the deity, transforming into another basis, there is no Śrāvaka or Bodhisattva, nor is there self-sustaining clinging to "I am named this." Similarly, generally, clinging to things as alcohol is conceptual imputation, but especially when blessed as nectar through the methods of Samādhi, mantra, and mudrā, their thoughts or ordinary collections of conceptualizations transform into other concepts such as deities, palaces, and nectar. Therefore, all faults such as unrestrained behavior and ultimate intoxication are overwhelmed by the vast wisdom of Vipassanā non-conceptualization. On the basis of not being defiled by faults, offering to the Yidam deity, completing the accumulation of merit, and because it is the greatness of the secret mantra method, the experience of the Vajra body city is increased, and the elements of the root, channels, and bindus are strengthened. The merits of the swift path arising from this, like upward growth, can also be analogized to other parts of learning. However, self-characteristics are not mixed, refutation and accomplishment are needed, the essence transforms, merits increase upwards, the key points do not contradict, and the timing is mainly used. Among them, self-characteristics not being mixed means that the object taken from any of the three vows, the intention with which it is taken, and the ritual of how it is taken, are in a way that their respective self-characteristics are not mixed. Even the time of taking is definitely different, so it is impossible for their respective self-characteristics to have a common basis, and because they cling to their respective characteristics, the self-characteristics are not mixed. Complete refutation and accomplishment means that what is to be refuted is affliction, and what is needed is not being bound by it. Their respective paths are the same, just as abandoning in the Śrāvakayāna, transforming in the Bodhisattvayāna, and using as the path in the Mantrayāna, understand with this example. For example, when a Haritaki tree grows in a garden, the owner, because he is not skilled in methods, completely uproots its saplings, branches, leaves, and even roots, and throws them far away. Similarly, from the Śrāvakayāna's scriptures, by realizing the coarse objects taken externally and the internally clinging consciousness with continuity as selfless, one will definitely be liberated from Saṃsāra, but because they regard the subtle particles of the object and the momentary consciousness of the clinging mind as truly existent, they strive to abandon afflictions as if they were enemies. Again, like a garden

Then a skilled physician came and said, "Hey, friends, pulling out the roots of a poisonous tree is laborious and toilsome. We haven't obtained a poisonous tree for mixing with medicinal oil, so let's stop here." Then, he applied medicinal oil to the poisonous tree, and it proved beneficial for four hundred and four diseases. Similarly, in the Bodhisattva's collection of teachings, the internally grasping consciousness is merely an illusion arising from conditions, and it does not truly exist in reality. However, clinging to external objects is the imputed nature (parikalpita) and the dependent nature (paratantra). Therefore, through the wisdom of realizing the perfected nature (parinispanna) of selflessness, one understands that objects and consciousness do not arise independently, and one diligently strives to purify and transform afflictions and discriminations into the nature of reality. As it is said in the Bodhisattva's Pratimoksha Sutra: "Shariputra, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva develops desire, having truly seen it, he should seek from where that desire arises. Having thoroughly searched, he finds no basis for it. From where desire arises, by what it arises, and how it arises, thus its arising is not seen. Where it arises is not seen, how it arises is not seen, therefore desire is not seen. Because of the cause of desire, he does not commit sinful actions, and his white dharmas increase, and he is not blamed but praised." And so on, it is extensively explained. Again, there came one skilled in the rituals of the tantric tradition and the wisdom of suchness, who said, "Mixing a poisonous tree into medicine involves many actions and clinging to substantiality. But through mantra, mudra, and deity yoga, it can be transformed into the nature of nectar." He did as he said, and the poisonous tree instantly became one with perfect color, smell, taste, and potency. Similarly, in the Vajrayana, for those who are not confused about the method of transforming afflictions and discriminations into deities and wisdom, and especially for those who have truly seen the meaning of the nature of reality, it is like a peacock that flies in and eats the poisonous tree without acceptance or rejection, and its plumage becomes more lush and beautiful. In the Twenty Vows, it says: "Those endowed with great means, afflic-
