Since generosity does not exist in all circumstances, a wise Bodhisattva, with an extremely pure mind, even transforms vast objects of generosity with his mind and generates the intention to give to all sentient beings. The Bodhisattva-bhumi says: Thus, a Bodhisattva does not have those enjoyments until he has attained a completely pure mind. Although he does not have enjoyments, a wise person still practices generosity. The Bodhisattva's superior pure thought, just like attaining complete liberation from the lower realms, will attain inexhaustible enjoyments in all lifetimes. Therefore, for the generosity of the high ground, one should temporarily make it an object of aspiration and generate a great aspiration related to the mind of enlightenment to give away all body and possessions, which is the root and supreme of all giving. The Compendium of Perfections says: The root of such generosity is the mind of enlightenment. Such generosity is the desire to give but not giving. The Buddha said that those in the world who have the desire to give are the most supreme among giving. As it is said. Second, the perfection of discipline: The nature of discipline is the vows that are not in accordance. The classification includes the vows of restraining sins, accumulating virtues, and benefiting sentient beings. Guarding the three doors from non-virtuous deeds is the vow of restraining sins, possessing the six perfections is the accumulation of virtues, and benefiting others is benefiting sentient beings. Therefore, guarding all the incompatible aspects that should be abandoned by the three doors, and familiarizing and stabilizing the intention to abandon including harming others, is the nature of discipline. There are three types: the vow of restraining sins, the accumulation of virtues, and benefiting sentient beings. The first of these is: from the perspective of motivation, abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions; from the perspective of self-nature, abandoning the seven actions of body and speech. The Commentary on Entering the Path says: Because it does not accept afflictions, because it does not generate sins, because it obtains coolness by extinguishing the fire of binding the mind, or because it is the cause of happiness, therefore it is the discipline that should be relied upon by the noble ones.

Moreover, it possesses the characteristics of seven abandonments. Not being attached to the three Dharma robes, being without hatred, and possessing right view are what initiate all of these. Therefore, based on the precepts that initiate and are complete, the ten paths of action are explained. So it is said. Moreover, in the Bodhisattva Grounds, the seven categories of individual liberation precepts are explained, so if a Bodhisattva holding the individual liberation precepts abides in the Bodhisattva precepts, then the actual precepts of individual liberation for either householders or renunciates, and the abandonment precepts common to these, are the precepts of discipline. If one is a holder of Bodhisattva precepts who is not suitable as a basis for individual liberation precepts, then the abandonment precepts that abandon whatever is appropriate of the prohibited behaviors common to individual liberation, are the precepts of discipline. Second, the gathering of virtuous dharmas is to practice the six perfections and other virtuous practices in a way that possesses four special qualities. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: Giving diminishes discordant aspects, possesses non-discriminating wisdom, fulfills all desires, and ripens sentient beings into three forms. Similarly, these four qualities are also taught for the remaining five, such as discipline: being separated from their respective discordant aspects, being seized by the wisdom that does not discriminate the three circles of friends, the action is to fulfill the wishes of others, and its result is to ripen disciples into the three enlightenments. The discordant aspects are as before: stinginess, moral corruption, anger, laziness, distraction, and wrong wisdom, the six. Similarly, the action is also that giving benefits others, and discipline makes the mind agreeable, etc., accomplishing the benefit of others in all ways, as before: Giving with material things makes the mind agreeable, enduring harm from others and striving to help others, distinguishing the acceptance and rejection of miraculous powers, fulfilling the desires of others. In general, the meaning of the word pāramitā is also that because it goes beyond all the virtues of worldly beings and hearers and self-realizers, it is called 'the other shore' from the word 'pāra,' and mita is 'gone,' that is, gone to the other shore. Even so, although the meaning of the word prajñāpāramitā can be explained, it cannot be spoken of, because the other shore is the realm of the Buddhas, and going is the supreme Dharma.
