As it is said, the words of those who have realized the truth have great significance, because not all valuable things can be obtained by all sentient beings, so one should not think that it will fail; and, because they have no attachment, one should not think that we will fail; and, one should not think that there is no need to personally grasp and then abandon, therefore, do not hinder the virtuous intention. As it is said therein: "For a Bodhisattva who acts in this way, some should not disbelieve that it is an ignorant act, because one should fully understand that it has a great and wonderful mind of giving. For this kind of behavior, some should not doubt." As it is said. Thus, material giving and fearlessness giving are those that precede Dharma giving. The teacher Yeshe Nyingpo said: "For those sentient beings who have not been subdued, it is also impossible to give Dharma giving. Among the three kinds of giving, material giving and fearlessness giving are the means of subduing, and Dharma giving is achieved through that means." Therefore, one should subdue sentient beings through the four objects of subduing: giving, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with others. Among them, the meaning of the first two is easy to understand, beneficial action refers to the method of how to lead others into the right path, and acting in accordance with others refers to oneself also diligently practicing the path shown to others. Thus, after subduing through the four objects of subduing, the real giving among the three Dharma givings, it is difficult to teach truthfully with faith and action. Through the ritual of eliminating one's own afflictions, and by reciting scriptures with loving-kindness and compassion, pray for the liberation of the lineage of white Dharma. After one's own liberation, with the fortune of sentient beings and one's own nature, take benefiting others as the main task. As it is said in the Sutra of Prediction by the Holy Holder of the World: "What is Dharma giving? Giving pens, ink, and scriptures is small. According to the capacity, proclaiming the Dharma of Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and the Unsurpassed is great. Leading into Unsurpassed Bodhi, proclaiming the Dharma that is as inconceivable as the sky is extremely great."

Generally, the essence of giving Dharma is to impart the excellent Dharma to others. However, if one does not have a clear understanding and ability to apply the words and meanings of the Dharma within oneself, yet teaches it to others, it is like one blind person describing the color of a swan to another based on the sound of its wings. Therefore, it is forbidden for beginners to preach the Dharma. The Ten Discriminations of a Bodhisattva states: 'For a novice Bodhisattva, one should first encourage him to recite scriptures, after hearing extensively, encourage him to dwell in solitude, after dwelling completely in solitude, encourage him to become a virtuous friend, after becoming a virtuous friend, encourage him to be comfortable and at ease, after being comfortable and at ease, encourage him to understand the timing, after understanding the timing, encourage him to be fearless, after being fearless, encourage him to understand the meaning, after understanding the meaning, encourage him to follow the Dharma, after following the Dharma, encourage him to be without ignorance, after being without ignorance, encourage him to engage in discrimination.' Therefore, one should diligently engage in listening, contemplation, and meditation on the instructions of virtuous friends, the scriptures spoken by the Tathagatas, and the treatises explained by holy and wise beings, thereby eliminating the afflictions within oneself. Furthermore, with love and compassion for sentient beings, and with devotion to the teachings of the Tathagatas, diligently reading the Mahayana scriptures will transform into great altruistic actions. As the scripture says: 'Whoever reads, remembers, recites this sutra, or writes it down, or encourages others to write it down, the ripening of that action is inconceivable.' In general, this is a universal symbol, especially, it is said that when Master Vasubandhu recited the scriptures, pigeons who heard it lightened their karmic obscurations, and after their lifespan ended, they were reborn as the disciple Upagupta, becoming the wise holder of discipline. In addition, there are stories of gods from the sky coming to listen when practitioners abiding in love and compassion recite the scriptures. Similarly, people in the past who possessed Bodhicitta.
