Increasing delightful sorrow. Trade and agriculture are abandoned by sinful companions. Taxes, levies, and trivial matters do not trouble people. Birds and wild animals do not make unpleasant sounds. Clear water and the enjoyment of fruits are vast. The caves of rocky mountains and the pavilions of leaves are spacious. The shade of trees, if accompanied, brings comfort, when will I be able to live together? The edge of that place is the end of the village's extinction, and the nomadic monastery is at least a secluded place beyond the reach of a distant shout. That is pleasing to those who are weary of samsara, and sorrow naturally increases. There is no discrimination of trade and agriculture. It cannot be deceived by sinful companions. There are no taxes or levies. Life is naturally easy to obtain, so it is not troubled by trivial matters. The birds make pleasant sounds. The wild animals play leisurely, so there is not the slightest disharmony. Clear water, flowers, fruits, sprouts, medicines, roots, leaves, wind food, etc. can also be relied upon, so it is a vast enjoyment that pleases the noble ones. Natural caves and leaf pavilions have few affairs. The shade of trees is skilled at eliminating heat, and if accompanied, it is comfortable. Thinking of those things, we can generate joy and feel weary of family and noisy places. In the teaching letter it says: Trees with roots, fruits, bark, and leaves are fully equipped. A forest without dependence, a cool stream of mountain water, a place without stagnation. On the edge of the rising river, adorned with fallen fruits and flowers. Because of joy, there is ultimately nothing that is not there, but it is deceived by a hellish family and stays. So it is said. Praising from the perspective of benefit: There, there are new guests of the four seasons. The forests that manifest change and show manifestation. Taking oneself not to be afflicted as a reason. Look at the proclamation of merit for walking seven steps. There, the difference in the qualities of the secluded places such as forests is this: Holding the nature of conditioned phenomena, which has no essence and is a dharma that disperses separately, as permanent, and even those with bad intelligence who like them, the nature of the forests, which is very shaken by the changes of the four seasons, clearly shows as if showing manifestation, thus generating renunciation and

The mind of renunciation, surpassing the artificial, increases, becoming an impetus for diligence, and disputes and afflictions are more easily pacified than before. In the wide mountain valley, there are no noisy crowds, so it is extremely peaceful; vast enjoyments, lush green forests, strung together like rosaries; clear riverbanks, like the flowing of water from the source, as melodious as the sound of a drum, as if proclaiming, "We are not places of affliction." Thus it is said. Therefore, relying on the secluded forest, afflictions cannot increase, which is a praise of the effect on the cause. From the perspective of imputation, they proclaim the virtues of tending towards the forest as arguments for the teachings of the Tathagata. As it says in the "Arya Samadhiraja Sutra": If someone were to offer flowers, incense, food, and all comfortable implements to all the Buddhas for eons, it would be better to turn towards a solitary place with a mind of extreme renunciation and walk about seven steps, for this merit is even greater and immeasurable. Completely abandon concern for body and life, and meditate on emptiness and peace. With a mind of diligence and extreme diligence, abide in solitude like a deer. And, when Manjushri revealed the qualities of the Buddha-field, he said: Shariputra, one who delights in abiding in solitude will fully possess ten benefits. What are the ten? Namely: completely abandoning noise, relying on extreme solitude, being focused on meditation, not having many affairs, the Buddhas are pleased, their body is happy and inseparable, their pure conduct will not be obstructed, easily attaining samadhi, the teachings of words and letters will not be wasted, and fully understanding the meaning of the Dharma as it is heard. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva who abides in solitude will fully possess these ten benefits. In accordance with this, the "Chandraprabha Kumara Sutra" and the questions of Samantabhadra also extensively explain this. Next is the actual explanation of meditating on dhyana: Wherever dhyana is firmly established, that is the characteristic of higher training in mind. The ritual of the body of dependent arising is, the seven dharmas of Vairochana, with the mind as the life force. One

Strive to cultivate equanimity that is free from dualistic grasping. With any object of focus, bind the mind to virtuous intentions. May the appearances of elaboration dissolve into the single nature of reality. The field of appearances is not cut off, yet there is no grasping. Consciousness does not conceptualize objects, but remains in equanimity. The subsequent attainment of superior insight is of one essence. Among these, the essence of meditation is the mind's single-pointed focus on whatever virtuous object is chosen, as stated in the Jewel Cloud Sutra: 'The nature of samadhi is the mind abiding in single-pointedness.' Here, the cause for the arising of meditation is the three types of discipline and the three trainings that realize them. Initially, if we consider the common Lesser Vehicle, superior discipline, when cultivated, gives rise to superior samadhi; the cultivation of that gives rise to superior wisdom, which cuts off the root of the accumulation of afflictions and attains liberation. As stated in the Vinaya-bhesajja: 'Monks, the cultivation of discipline causes samadhi to abide for a long time. The cultivation of samadhi causes wisdom to abide for a long time. The cultivation of wisdom causes the mind to be completely liberated from desire, hatred, and delusion.' Therefore, the Vinaya Pitaka disciplines one's own mind with the discipline of restraining misconduct, thereby perfecting the sphere of activity. The Sutra Pitaka distinguishes the three trainings of both the Greater and Lesser Vehicles, and extensively describes the four immeasurables, such as loving-kindness, filling the world, thereby correctly applying the superior training of mind. The Abhidharma Pitaka accurately explains the meaning of what is expressed, thereby correctly applying the superior training of wisdom to the Four Noble Truths. Therefore, this state of meditation is the characteristic of the superior training of mind. Initially, when entering meditation, one should generate great compassion, wishing to lead all beings to manifest enlightenment. As stated in the Ornament: 'Vast and extensive, pure and beneficial, accomplishing vast benefit, surpassing by virtue itself, pure intention is superior intention.' Thus, wishing to establish all sentient beings in the heart of bodhi
