Without vows, there is neither special merit nor transgression. That which is not bound by vows is called intermediate virtue, and it does not transcend the nature of existence. Therefore, just as those who have fields must fear drought and hail, one must obtain vows in order to pursue the path of liberation. Guarding the three vows in the continuum of one person means that abiding in the higher vows, one cannot abandon the lower vows. From the perspective of conceptual existence related to wisdom, the three vows exist independently and are not mixed. Because they exist in this way, in the realization of the boundaries of protection, actions such as acceptance and rejection must be practiced in accordance with the self-established principles of permission and prohibition until then, without contradiction, because they are the images of good and evil conceptualizations. However, when the realization of the path becomes powerful, and the state of vows and non-vows merges with the meaning of wisdom that is devoid of inherent existence, then the nature of its three vows, transcending the eight aggregates of consciousness, transforms into the unconditioned, and is therefore called the discipline of fruition, because it has attained mastery over the meaning of good and evil not being established in nature. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Sagacious Intelligence: "Monks who practice yoga, possessing various concepts such as discipline, breaking discipline, and guarding discipline, will experience the bliss of the gods and then be reborn in the lower realms. Those who have no arrogance of vows and non-vows, and no conceptualization, that is the pure discipline of nirvana." Although this is so, when a small stream flows into the ocean, it transforms into saltiness, but on the path of practice, just as they are independent and not mixed, the way to destroy the tenets of transformation on the basis of the island of the three vows is: If you want to discuss the view of the transformation of the basis, there is no turning back. From the perspective of individual liberation vows, one has committed a root downfall. If you confess from your own perspective, it is contradictory because it has already been transformed. If you confess from the perspective of the higher, for that itself, because no downfall has occurred, it is argued that there is no need to confess. In this way, the actor is the mind, and that itself is good and non-good, good and non-good is karma, and happiness and suffering arise from the good and bad of karma, then the means of accepting and rejecting those is vows, so it is a person with three wisdoms who has entered the path.

Merely claiming to be a Vajra-holder monk, on the level of common consciousness, one must individually hold the characteristics of the three vows, and their respective natures must not be confused. Therefore, from all topics, it is impossible for the continuum of a person who has received the three vows to be simultaneously pervaded by the transformation of the vows. In the 'Pure Vehicle,' it says: Some say to protect the transformation, just as melting copper ore yields copper, pouring in brass ore yields brass, and pouring in lead ore turns into lead. After obtaining the higher vow, the lower vow transforms, and saying that it is enough to protect only one mantra is unreasonable. In the 'Initial Holy One Tantra,' it says: If you despise, that is the nature, meaning that if you despise the lower vow, you will fall, and it is said that all vows must be protected, so it is harmful. This is clear. Therefore, it is necessary to cite the six dharmas, such as the non-confusion of individual entities on one basis, which is also for the sake of distinguishing between the general and the specific. Therefore, to think that the transformation of the essence and the increase of qualities are not different is completely wrong. Similarly, it is unreasonable to think that the transformation of the essence is part of the qualities, because the three vows are conventional truth, so from the beginning: First, their respective entities are not confused, and they each hold characteristics. This is said because the person who gradually ascends from the Lesser Vehicle, the first person who teaches, considers the differences in the thoughts of sentient beings, and these three vows of individual liberation, which are established as antidotes, are thought to be transformed and protected, which is a completely imputed notion. Therefore, if one performs accomplished actions at that time, it will be impossible to undo. For example, if a monk who possesses vows commits a minor or major transgression from the perspective of either the Hearer Vehicle or the Bodhisattva Vehicle, if one wants to confess from the perspective of the Hearer Vehicle, because it has already been transformed, there is no cause for confession because there is no non-confusion of individual entities. If one wants to confess from the perspective of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, there will be no contradiction if it is permitted, so there is no cause for falling. Therefore, the initial practitioner should not perform accomplished actions. For example, it is said: Are the vows born from body and speech tangible? The mind of renunciation is continuous, and the seed possesses attachment to reality. If one does not grasp it through the methods of transformation and taking the path, even if one enters the Great Vehicle path and receives empowerment, one is not a Vajra-holder who has obtained transformation. This is the admonition. So, what is the standard for promising transformation? The vows are purely
