Regarding the self-absolution of the executor: If a designated companion is present, it should be done in their presence; if not, it should be done in the presence of any monk present in the assembly. Then, the bundles of grass are collected and counted. The venerable monastic community is informed: Thus, the monks who have resided in this place have performed this many acts of absolution. After making this known, those present in the assembly should respond: 'It has been properly absolved.' 'It has been extremely well absolved.' Then, for the absolution of material possessions, the designated person themselves should take any object such as a needle in their hand, sit before the elders, and ask: 'Venerable ones, is it permissible to perform the absolution for the monastic community residing for the summer with such an object?' Those present in the assembly should respond: 'It is completely permissible.' 'It is extremely permissible.' Thus, permission is granted. Then, the designated person collects all the gains from the summer retreat and places them to one side. The novices are then made to perform the absolution as before, and it is made known to them. Then, their gains are collected and distributed together with the previous gains. Non-timely absolution is as follows: If, due to a Dharma-related activity or a cause for resolving disputes, it is necessary to leave during the summer retreat, or if, after committing to the summer retreat, more than two Uposatha observances are missed, absolution may be performed on any day of the waning half of the month or the end of the month. If it is not possible to stay due to war or other reasons, they may inform each other of the monastic absolution and then leave; these are special circumstances regarding time. Special circumstances regarding individuals are as follows: If there are not four monks, there is no need to appoint an executor of the absolution; the request and the actual absolution are performed directly. If there are only three or two, the absolution is blessed. If there is only oneself, the root vow is recited three times. Furthermore, if one has obtained permission to leave the boundary after receiving a blessing for seven days, etc., and encounters an absolution at another monastery, one may also perform the absolution together with them without fault. If one arrives suddenly on that day, or if another ordained person who has broken the summer retreat also needs to perform the absolution, it must be done. After performing the absolution in this way, on the sixteenth day, in order to avoid excessive attachment to the dwelling...

RA. Having abandoned noisy talk and improper attention, either with Dharma-related talk or with the silence of the noble ones, by properly attending to it, one should travel at least within a radius of one krosha. If there is fear everywhere, or if there are faults such as anger, then it is said that there is no downfall even if one does not go. If it is harmful to others, it is not a Shramana, and therefore it will harm crops and fruit trees, etc. Even if there is a fault of making householders disgusted, one should not be harsh to the wanderer, because the purpose of the wanderer is to abandon attachment to the place. Therefore, even when wanderers and others suddenly want to go, they should ask the lama from now on and get permission. Do not do improper things, and in the place where you have stayed overnight, you should recite the Three Heaps Sutra in the morning and evening. Furthermore, the basis of the conditions for living in comfort, such as clothes, leather, and dwellings, etc., should be known in detail elsewhere. Here, only the essence is mentioned in connection with the topic. It is said that when the Teacher was staying in Shravasti, the monks who had completed the summer retreat came out to pay homage, and because the monks were very tired, he allowed a firm bedding related to carelessness. This is actually the basis of the bedding, which is a grass mat, when sewing monastic robes. A monk who has laid a firm bedding obtains ten benefits: not leaving, not abandoning, and not dwelling. Often, gathering, going without permission, avoiding the five faults of asking for clothes, and wherever a monk belonging to the bedding dwells, he can jointly obtain wealth, he can hold unpermitted clothes, and he can hold unsewn clothes. The manner, time, person, object, and ritual of the bedding are not mentioned here. Regarding the basis of clothing: The Teacher allowed the Shravakas to cut the cloth obtained in the summer into ugly colors and hold it. Because those with perfect marks mistook the practitioners for Shravakas, they requested to sew marks, so he allowed the cut and sewn clothes. This is related to the thirteen items of livelihood, namely: the monastic robe, the upper garment, the lower skirt, and the sweat cloth, the sweat cloth.
