Thus it is said. The establishment of the six perfections means that the giving of generosity, etc., each their own generosity; the discipline of guarding against their respective unfavorable factors; the patience of enduring the hardships of that and that; the diligence of practicing with joy; the meditative concentration of not being distracted by anything else; and the wisdom that is grasped by the view of not conceptually elaborating the three spheres, thus becoming thirty-six in total. Furthermore, considering that those virtuous dharmas are summarized into the three trainings, thereby determining the number of the six perfections, also comes from the previous text: Because of mastering the three trainings, The Victorious Ones have truly taught the six perfections; The first three are included in the training of discipline, The latter two are of two kinds, One also belongs to all three. Thus, because of being free from attachment to the object of giving, discipline becomes completely pure, and from that, one becomes endowed with the four qualities of a renunciate, which is patience, so the first three are included in the higher training of discipline. Meditative concentration is included in the higher training of concentration, and wisdom is included in the higher training of wisdom, so the latter two are of two kinds. Diligence belongs to all three, thus becoming the companion of all of them. Those are also related like cause and effect, and abide in the state of inferior and superior, and coarse and subtle differences. As it says in that very text: Relying on the former, the latter arises, Because they abide in inferior and superior, And because of coarse and subtle, Therefore, these are taught in order. Furthermore, the meaning of the ultimate result is also connected to the Perfection of Wisdom. As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: All these limbs, The Subduer said, are for the sake of wisdom. Like that and so on. How to accomplish it: Giving without expecting reward or fruition, discipline without aiming for happy migrations, patience without resentment towards all sentient beings, diligence in gathering all virtuous dharmas, meditative concentration that excludes meditative absorption and formless absorption, and wisdom that is grasped by skillful means and great compassion. As it says in the previous text: Giving without expectation, Discipline without desiring rebirth, Patience towards all, Diligence in gathering all qualities, Likewise, meditative concentration is not formless, Wisdom is endowed with skillful means, Relying on the six perfections, etc.

With correct combination. (This is a quote) And, those fruits, if viewed from a temporary perspective, the Ratnavali states: Giving brings enjoyment, discipline brings happiness, patience brings radiance, diligence brings majesty, meditation brings peace, and wisdom brings liberation. (This is a quote) If viewed from an ultimate perspective, it was said earlier: The Form Body, in brief, arises from the accumulation of merit; the Dharma Body, in brief, arises from the accumulation of the king of wisdom. (End of quote) Therefore, the discipline of accumulating virtuous dharmas exists in the nature of the six perfections, so the content expressed is always mixed together. Everything can generate what has not arisen in one's own continuum, and what has already arisen will not decline, but will increase more and more. Third, the discipline of benefiting sentient beings is: directly or indirectly, the mind that engages in the benefit of others in all ways, along with the corresponding mental activities, is its nature. That is, if one does not fully rely on the four objects of collection, one cannot accomplish the meaning of what should be learned. Therefore, it is also said in the Lotus Garland: Greet them well with the fan of generosity. (This is a quote) As mentioned before. First, after well gathering sentient beings with material generosity, guide their minds with pleasant speech, and make them generate the desire, intention, and joy of pursuing the practice of the true Dharma, and then let them practice the meaning of the Dharma that suits their respective minds. That is, for those who like the Lesser Vehicle, temporarily take them in with the Dharma that corresponds to it, and then gradually guide them to the right path. For those who like the extremely profound and vast Dharma, one should be skilled in taming them with methods related to behavior and time. Master Shantideva said: Do not teach the superior Dharma to the inferior, do not apply the vast vessel of Dharma to the inferior Dharma. (End of quote) Therefore, in order to lead others to the path by any means, one must also abide in it oneself. Because if one does not accomplish it oneself, even if one guides others to enter or leave the path, they will not listen, which is obvious. Among them, generosity can accomplish temporary benefits, pleasant speech can accomplish the corresponding cause, and practicing the meaning can hold the Dharma that ultimately benefits.
