In order to prevent giving alms with things that have been sought and accumulated due to injury, without considering the faults of attachment. Otherwise, if one naturally obtains something through the power of the fruits of past generosity, the benefit of giving it away is prevented, and thus giving is not spoken of. For example, the Protector Nagarjuna provided sustenance for many monks, and the Teacher Hero, through the power of past merit, obtained vast alms every day, thus benefiting all the monks. For lay bodhisattvas who possess great wisdom, there is also no prohibition against giving the Dharma. In the house of the Licchavi known as Immaculate, there are eight wonderful things, as well as the six perfections, and extensive and profound discussions on the irreversible wheel of Dharma. Therefore, all of the perfections of giving should possess six superior qualities, as stated in the Compendium of Perfections: Relying on the arising of the mind of enlightenment is the superior basis; whatever the difference between general and specific giving, not abandoning that thought is the superior object; giving for the immediate happiness and long-term benefit of all sentient beings is the superior purpose; being seized by non-discriminating wisdom is the superior skillful means; being seized by the superior dedication of dedicating the virtue of giving to perfect enlightenment; and being seized by the superior purity that prevents both the obscuration of affliction and the obscuration of knowledge. Non-superior thoughts should be cleansed: for example, the evil view that giving has no result, and the view that harm also becomes Dharma, thus harming the lives of sentient beings, etc., or disturbing directions with deceptive means, or giving with things that make other beings weary with burdens in distant directions through means like trade, which is the same as the heretical tenets of those who claim harm is Dharma. Furthermore, giving in connection with auspiciousness and good fortune, giving with an arrogant attitude, giving in order to compete with others, giving while despising the beggar, giving with the conceited thought that "I am generous, but others are not," and thinking that one can attain the world and just by completing the giving,

In short, thinking that one can become free from attachment beyond dependence, and so on, in short, due to the fear of the burden of writing, all the thirty-six impure giving that are spoken of, because one has a little generosity and prides oneself on having discipline, one finds fault with others' stinginess and loose behavior. This also represents the remaining situations, because causing anger in others leads to hell. The Sutra of Complete Purification of Karmic Obscurations also says: 'When ordinary people give alms, they do not trust the stingy, and this also causes anger and leads to hell, which is an obstacle to giving. When keeping vows, if one speaks ill of those who are impure in their vows, many people will not trust them, and that lack of trust will lead to bad destinies.' Abiding in patience and so on, not praising those who abide in the opposite of these is an obstacle to discipline and so on. Therefore, the Protector Nagarjuna said: 'Although I have perfect wealth, I should not despise others, but with a mind like butter, hide all good qualities in my heart.' These should also be kept in mind. Furthermore, the giving of a Bodhisattva is to give to the beggar immediately upon receiving enjoyment, not to accumulate a lot and give it all at once, because that is not only a cause of arrogance and dependence on others, but also during that time, due to the protection and increase of various afflictions such as stinginess, it will hinder many virtuous deeds, and sometimes it will be lost in the middle, causing the act of giving to be unfulfilled. In short, the benefits of giving that does not cause displeasure to others, such as not giving quickly and counting favors, are: In the Chapter on Truthfulness, it says: 'By giving with reverence, relatives and others will treat you with reverence; by giving with your hand, you will receive reverence; by giving at the right time, things will be accomplished at the right time; by giving without harming others, you will obtain stable enjoyment; by giving with endurance of discomfort, your retinue will be close.' Furthermore, in order to eliminate the faults of those who have the stain of stinginess, one should use skillful and gentle language
