Distinguishing whether it is a defilement or not, and some may turn into images of downfall, these are matters to be confessed by stating things in front of a person. Regarding the timing, the actual teachings from the Sutra Requested by the Venerable Ananda have already been cited. If a suitable object of confession is not found, then confess with words and restrain with the mind in front of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In general, the method of constantly learning the four concepts that do not diminish and are stable. The four concepts of guarding through the gate of stability: Seeing the virtuous friend as the Buddha, seeing the Dharma taught by him as the path, seeing those who practice it as friends, and seeing all sentient beings as one's only child. These are the correct teachings of aspiration. As it is said in the Noble Samadhi King Sutra: Young man, the mind of enlightenment becomes stable when endowed with four concepts. What are the four? From a true virtuous friend, the concept of the Buddha, from the Dharma taught by him, the concept of the path, from those who practice it, the concept of friends, and for all sentient beings, the concept of a single child. So it is said. Now, the discipline of the Bodhisattva gathering virtuous Dharmas: Showing the vows that abide in the essence of the six perfections as the training of entering, that is, like this, the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, skillful means and wisdom, the four objects of gathering, the vows of the Bodhisattva's misdeeds, the gathering of virtuous Dharmas, and the three types of discipline that benefit sentient beings, etc., all like grains gathered in a large bag, the six perfections are able to gather, other gatherers cannot do so, therefore this is the great vow of the Bodhisattva's path, and it also shows its vastness through the name of Paramita. First, in order to show the distinctions: Among the six perfections of the training of entering, the first five are the accumulation of supreme merit, the last one is the great accumulation of wisdom, without relying on the two, there is no Buddha. Adding skillful means, power, aspiration, and wisdom makes ten. Thus, the six perfections are the Dharma of the Bodhisattva gathering virtuous deeds, and also the power of householders.

Thus, patience, generosity, and discipline, etc. As the noble Nagarjuna said, "Generosity and discipline, The Dharma of patience in particular, To householders, always meditate on the essence of compassion." As it is said, discipline is the meaning of being a layperson, being separated from sin. From the point of view of being ordained, in the ritual of taking vows from the Compendium of Sutras, it is said, "With the discipline of vows, one should follow the Buddha." Thus, the main thing to accumulate virtue is the vows and the body of vows, that is, meditation and other remaining dharmas. As it is also said in the Practice of the Good, "They strive diligently to cross to the other shore, and never forget the mind of enlightenment." Like that. These are divided into ten in relation to the antidotes to the obscurations to be abandoned. In the Middle Way, it says, "Generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom, perfections, skillful means, strength, aspiration, and wisdom, these are considered the ten perfections." Thus, it is divided in relation to eliminating the ten things to be abandoned: stinginess, immoral discipline, anger, laziness, distraction, wrong wisdom, unskillful means, obstacles to strength, unfulfilled aspirations, and obstacles to knowledge. From the point of view of six, the first five, such as generosity, are the accumulation of merit, which is the cause of higher realms, and the latter is the unerring cause of definite goodness. Thus, one should not mistakenly believe that these two are only directly experiencing their respective results. If the accumulation of merit is practiced with unskillful means and without wisdom, its result will only be a large body and enjoyment in samsara, and longevity. However, if it is grasped by skillful means and profound wisdom, it is very suitable to become the cause of omniscience, so it is shown that skillful means and wisdom must be related. As it is said in the Precious Garland, "The form body, in short, The king is born from the accumulation of merit." Like that. From the point of view of ten, the first three of the remaining four are merit, and the latter is wisdom, which is the cause of definite goodness. Why is wisdom established as the cause? In the Manjushri Illusion Sutra, it says, "Those with merit are the accumulation of merit, wisdom wisdom arises.
