Because it also exists in commerce and the animal realm, like Yeshe Jungne said, do not offend all sentient beings, and grasp purifying pure appearances as the key. If there is contempt and slander between Bodhisattvas and Dharma friends, this is the only cause for cutting off merit and virtue, and it cannot be fully described. Third, do not be separated from the superior intention of benefiting all sentient beings, and strive to cultivate these. The superior intention is to act honestly without deception or hypocrisy. Fourth, for all sentient beings that one can mature, generate great wisdom, encourage them to generate the initial aspiration, and from the depths of their hearts, establish them in the heart of perfect Bodhi. As it is said in the "Inquiry of Yeshe Jungne," "Yeshe Jungne, if you possess four qualities, you will not forget the mind of Bodhi. What are the four? Knowingly not telling lies, generating the thought of a teacher towards Bodhisattvas, having no deception towards sentient beings, abiding with a superior intention, and truly establishing all sentient beings in the Great Vehicle." Thus. Therefore, these four white dharmas are the essence of merit, and are the antidote to the four black dharmas that are non-meritorious. Not only in this life, but until Bodhi is attained, the reason why the mind of Bodhi is not forgotten in the bardo is that the sutra says, "Yeshe Jungne, if a Bodhisattva possesses four qualities, in all lifetimes, as soon as they are born, the mind of Bodhi will manifest, and until they abide in the essence of Bodhi, they will not forget in the bardo." This is directly declared. There are four root downfalls, as stated in the "Twenty Verses": "Attached to gain and respect, praising oneself and disparaging others, suffering helpless beings, being stingy and not giving Dharma, not listening to others' confessions, angrily beating others, abandoning the Great Vehicle, showing what appears to be true Dharma." It means that due to particularly clinging to gain and respect, one accepts praising oneself and disparaging others. Seeing suffering and helpless beings, due to stinginess, one does not give wealth, and does not give Dharma with a beneficial mind. Others make mistakes

Even if one confesses, anger still does not subside, and one still scolds the other person, does not earnestly respect the Great Vehicle, and falsely presents what is not Dharma as Dharma. Some others, like the teacher Jangchub Zangpo, consider these four to be the actual root downfalls, and the other eighteen to be imputed, and one should know that this is the difference between classification and summarization. Like this, if all four are present, it is a great entanglement, which means continuously committing those offenses without interruption, and not feeling any shame or embarrassment about those offenses, and even feeling satisfied and happy about them, not considering them as faults, but rather viewing them as virtues. If all four are present, it is a great entanglement. Because it destroys the vows, it is called defeat. If any one of them is present, one feels ashamed considering one's own face, and feels slightly embarrassed considering the face of others, so one can be stopped by others, this is a medium entanglement. If one feels very ashamed about any one of them, and without relying on other conditions, one immediately stops oneself, this is a small entanglement, these two do not abandon the vows, this is the view of the Bodhisattva Grounds in terms of medium and dull faculties. Even so, in the Compendium of Determinations, On the basis of combining the two causes of abandonment, the arising of contradictory non-vows, the condition for abandonment is abandoning the training, and the four dharmas of entanglement above the medium level, these are definitely explained as the four causes of abandonment. And the difference between the Sutra of Skillful Means and the Compendium of Trainings is distinguished by the sharpness or dullness of the faculties. The method of confession is stated in the Twenty Root Verses: One should take the vows again. Medium transgressions should be confessed to three people. The remaining (transgressions) should be (confessed) in front of one person. (When confessing) follow one's own mind, whether it is pure or not. Thus, make the aspiration. Because great entanglement abandons the vows with the root downfall of defeat, if this happens, one should earnestly engage in confession and accumulating merit and purifying obscurations, and one should take the vows again, and there is no need to repeat it more than three times, this is what is stated in the Bodhisattva Grounds. The transgression mentioned here is entanglement, committing it with medium entanglement is similar to defeat, or those that are said to be defeat, should be confessed to three or more people. The root downfall committed with small entanglement, and the forty-six subtle offenses other than that, are all with the motivation of
