The filth resembling excrement was taken up without hesitation. The lap was used as a bathroom. All the unclean and foul-smelling parts were wiped away with the hands. Gentle milk was used for service. Enduring the cold and rough clothes, one did not tire of clinging to the warmth of the flesh. The mother, the embodiment of loving-kindness, disregarded her own suffering and chose to die rather than have her child be sick. Signs and friends were abandoned. For the sake of the child, sinful deeds, suffering, and unbearable harsh words were endured. To disregard that kindness and service, to be ungrateful, is to harm sentient beings. There is no more degenerate behavior or malicious thought than that. Because there is nothing worse than that, it is oppressed by a great burden. As it is said in the scriptures: This earth and mountains are not my burden, but the great burden of ingratitude, like a person who has swallowed poison. Its burden is like swallowing food mixed with potent poison, which is much faster than yig poison. Although one thinks it will not decay, it will eventually decay. As it is said in the Vinaya-vibhaṅga: The lands and the mountains, the ocean are not my burden, but whatever is ungrateful, that is my great burden. Therefore, one should know how to repay kindness. Therefore, for all limitless sentient beings, who have been mothers and bestowed virtuous kindness, one should remember, thereby increasing the four Brahmavihāras. For those who are grateful and repay kindness, one should offer with the wealth of the noble ones. In this way, if one recognizes that all sentient beings have been one's mothers, one will remember their kindness. By remembering in this way, one will obtain the thought of gratitude and repayment. Naturally, pleasing loving-kindness arises, From page 201 to 300. And compassion that observes those tormented by suffering, and joy that arises from sentient beings being liberated from suffering and attaining perfection, and equanimity that treats all sentient beings equally because one recognizes that all sentient beings have been one's parents, these four Brahmavihāras will grow more and more. Therefore, one will become unsparing in giving, and will gradually become rich with the wealth of the noble ones, such as knowing shame and embarrassment. As it is said in the Jātaka: Knowing gratitude and repaying gratitude

Zo. Actions done are not wasted, the glorious protector abides nearby. Thus knowing, may the aspiration mind be like the autumn moon, the opposing forces that can be obscured by Rahu's face, the four black dharmas should be kept far away. That aspiration mind is like the autumn moon, as the teacher Hero said: All qualities rely on the mind of enlightenment, the supreme mind of enlightenment arises from the cause of compassion. Thus, from the firmness of compassion, the mind that desires to benefit all sentient beings, like the waxing autumn moon, never abandons the realm of sentient beings, that mind is the nature of abandonment. The cause of abandonment, like the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, is due to the small power of wisdom and discouragement, or initially vowing for the benefit of all sentient beings, but due to the fact that sentient beings are extremely difficult to tame and their actions are evil, one's own mind becomes disturbed, and now one feels unable to benefit sentient beings, thus abandoning the armor, and generating a mind that seeks peace and happiness for oneself, then one will abandon it. Furthermore, the opposing force of that mind of enlightenment, like the face of Rahu, is the four black dharmas. Thus, those of the Hearer and Solitary Realizer lineage, and those of inferior faculties, with compassion being weak for less than seven lifetimes, are easily reversed, so they are reborn elsewhere, or in the present life, they are the cause of forgetting the mind of enlightenment and not manifesting it. As it is said: Although one has attained the ground of a Buddha's son, one cannot be trusted, because until one attains the eighth ground, one cannot abandon the Lesser Vehicle. Thus, although it is said that generally after attaining the eighth Bodhisattva ground, there is no way to regress, the ground of the characteristic vehicle, compared to the mantra path, is provisional, and the reason will be explained in the context of the mantra vehicle. Furthermore, the sutras say that many Pratyekabuddhas entered the Great Vehicle, and some of them regressed after attaining the eighth ground. Thus, it is also said in the Vajra Peak Sutra: As long as one has not attained the eighth ground, one is always afraid of the Lesser Vehicle. The four black dharmas are: To generate doubt about those worthy of offerings and ransom, and to associate with places of regret. To slander the holy ones and spread bad names, to deceive others by acting with cunning and deceit.
