And, like that, the eight that exist together, such as direct perception, are pervasive in all stages of fruition. Although it is said like this, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it says: The mind of enlightenment of the sons of the Conqueror, is taught to be like a cloud. Therefore, the twenty-two are taught from the path of accumulation up to the tenth ground. The eleven are not associated with the fruit of all light, because in the ultimate mind of enlightenment attained by the nature of reality on the Buddha ground, the limit of entering or exhaustion is not seen. Thus, having taught the distinctions of the boundaries of the grounds, now, in order to lead to certainty about the qualities of each of the aspiration and engagement, whoever seeks their own well-being, in the gate that is always without interruption, does not disturb the mind of the beggar, that is called the unestablished offering. If it is worthy of praise, even by generating a single thought of benefiting all sentient beings, one can close the door to the lower realms, and in the lineage of gods and humans, the merit of enjoying happiness is inexhaustible. Thus, with a limited thought focused on one's own benefit, like the householder Anathapindika giving food, for the sake of giving, the door is not closed, and whoever does not contradict the wishes of the beggar is respected by people. As it says in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior: Merely giving a little food to beings, or giving food for a moment, or even giving half-full food with contempt, is respected by people as doing good. Like this, even small merits that occur occasionally are praised in the world. If one unestablished offering can become the lord of the desire realm, what need is there to mention the vast mind that eliminates the countless sufferings of each sentient being with the power of increasing familiarity, without having to force it? Even just thinking of eliminating a headache, having the thought of benefiting others, will be accompanied by immeasurable merit, closing the door to the lower realms, and in the lineage of gods and special humans, the nature of happiness will be inexhaustible. As it says in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior: Even if one thinks of eliminating just the headache of sentient beings, if one has the thought of benefiting others, one will have immeasurable merit. Each sentient being

Each one's discomfort, wanting to eliminate immeasurable amounts, each one also possesses immeasurable merits, is there any need to mention wanting to accomplish them? Like that, merely thinking of benefiting is superior to offering to the Buddhas, then, is there any need to mention striving for the happiness of all beings without exception? Like that, in the Bodhicitta Commentary it also says: Relying on beings, one obtains the unsurpassed state of Buddhahood, then, whatever enjoyments of gods and humans, Brahma and Indra, Maheshvara, and the protectors of the world, those relied upon, merely benefiting beings, without guiding, in these three realms, there is not a single one, what is there to be surprised about? Especially, the merits of entering are limitless, for the actual application of the pervasive ritual, from where does one begin to have an irreversible mind, the vow to liberate beings is very trustworthy, from then on, even if one sleeps unconsciously, merit will continuously connect. From the ground of practice, explain with reason. Like this, although wishing produces great fruit at the time of samsara, however, just as the entering mind enters, merit does not continuously arise. The Protector Maitreya said: Son of good family, wishing for enlightenment is also difficult to obtain, even more difficult than that is entering into unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, that is even more difficult to obtain. Thus it was said. What is the reason that the entering mind here is more special than the previous one? In the Bodhicaryavatara it says: From the mind of wishing for enlightenment, great fruit arises at the time of samsara, but, just as the entering mind does, merit does not continuously arise. And, the reason why merit continuously arises from the entering mind is: those who possess the lineage of Bodhisattvas, due to the freedom of great compassion, even if they have not prayed, they will enter into benefiting others, in that it says: From where, in order to liberate the boundless realm of beings, with an irreversible mind, whoever truly takes that mind, from then on, even if sleeping or unconscious, the power of merit, continuously, arises as vast as the sky. Thus, liberating beings from the bonds of afflictions and the prison of samsara.
