In the mansion called "Adorned Essence," Norzang, teaching the Dharma to hundreds of thousands of Bodhisattvas, was seen by Norzang from five hundred yojanas away, who prostrated to him. Seeing this, Norzang extended his right hand and placed it on Norzang's head, praising him and speaking of nearly three hundred and fifty benefits with similes, which should be examined. Similarly, the teachings of the noble Inexhaustible Intelligence, the questions of Sredmed's son, the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*, the *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra*, the *Gayaśīrṣa Sūtra*, the *Ratnamegha Sūtra*, the *Daśabhūmika Sūtra*, the teachings of Vimalakīrti, the chapter on transcendence, the *Nirvana Sūtra*, the *Śraddhābalādhānāvatāra Mudra Sūtra*, the *Ajātaśatru Kaukṛtya Vinodana Sūtra*, the *Satyadvayāvatāra Sūtra*, the *Ratnakūṭa Sūtra*, the *Candrapradīpa Sūtra*, and other Mahāyāna scriptures should be understood. In short, from the two aspects of the benefits of aspiration and the benefits of entering, firstly, as stated in the *Ārya Bhadra Caryā Praṇidhāna Rāja Sūtra*: "Son of Śāradvatī, the accumulation of merit from the first arising of the mind is not insignificant or slight. Even if one hundred, one thousand, or one hundred thousand kalpas cannot express it, how can the measure of merit of Bodhisattvas arising the mind be known?" And as stated in the *Aṣṭasāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra*: "If someone accumulates roots of virtue for as many kalpas as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, another person, for just one day, half a day, or a snap of the fingers, generates the mind for enlightenment, the latter's merit is greater." Therefore, even without the ability to practice the mind of enlightenment, one can obtain great results in samsara. As stated in the liberation of Maitreya, the Blessed One taught: "For example, even a vajra jewel cannot surpass the excellent brilliance of a golden ornament." Through the above similes and analysis, the mere ritual of generating the mind of enlightenment is shown to benefit limitless sentient beings. If someone explicitly opposes this, it should be considered the work of a demon. Similarly, in the *Ten Dharmas Sūtra*, the four causes for generating the mind of enlightenment are taught, the first of which is the voice of the Tathāgata.

Or being urged and forced by coercion, etc., to take it up; secondly, taking it up after hearing the praise of the mind of enlightenment; thirdly, generating (the mind of enlightenment) with the thought of compassion after seeing sentient beings without protectors, without refuge, and without support; and fourthly, generating (the mind of enlightenment) with joy after seeing all the perfect aspects of the Thus-Gone One. Among these, only the mind of enlightenment that arises out of one's own being overwhelmed by great compassion for the sake of benefiting sentient beings is the most excellent. This was declared from the Samadhi of the Wisdom Hand Seal of the Blessed Thus-Gone One. Similarly, the benefit of entering (the mind of enlightenment) is that the body, wisdom, qualities, and activities of the Buddha are all accomplished solely from accomplishing the benefit of others. One can understand from what was the cause for the Buddhas of the past to receive the prediction of complete enlightenment. Thus, the Noble Lord of the Nagas (Nagarjuna) said: "The perfection of benefiting others is considered to be the chief of fruits. Pleasing the Buddhas, etc., are other than that. It is accepted that those arise incidentally." As it is said. From "The Treasury of Qualities, the Rain of Joy," the explanation of taking up the mind of enlightenment, which is the eighth chapter. The explanation of the eighth chapter.
