The power of restoring purity by not creating negative actions; relying on the Three Jewels for refuge and cherishing the precious Bodhicitta, causing sins to be exhausted and thinned, this is the power of reliance. In the Sutra of the Four Dharmas, it says: Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva possesses four dharmas, all sins committed and accumulated will be subdued. What are the four? They are: always practicing remorse, always practicing antidotes, the power of restoration, and the power of reliance. The first is, if one engages in non-virtuous actions, one should have much regret for that action. The second is, even if one has committed non-virtuous actions, one should be extremely diligent in virtuous actions. The third is, having taken pure vows, one obtains the vow not to commit sins. The fourth is, taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and not abandoning the mind of enlightenment. So, how does one confess? Visualize an immeasurable gathering of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the sky in front of you, remember the meaning of refuge and the four powers, recite the Sutra of the Three Aggregates, and the verses from the Samantabhadra's Prayer, such as "Due to the power of desire, hatred, and delusion," or confess with verses from the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, such as "Those who dwell in all directions." If one confesses in this way, sins are also conditioned phenomena and do not remain together. In the Sutra Requested by Maitreya Lion's Roar, it says: "Whatever sinful deeds have been done out of ignorance, I confess them all. Having confessed their faults, the wise do not dwell together with karma." In particular, the supreme method of purification is to meditate on the view of emptiness. In the Sutra of the Buddha Treasury, it says: "Even killing one's parents and arhats can be liberated by meditating on emptiness." The fourth branch, the branch of rejoicing: "By what means is one's own nature not disturbed? By a single thought of distinction, others are purified. The conduct of thieves who instantly steal white virtues is done only by rejoicing." Among them, rejoice in those sentient beings who are liberated from the suffering of the lower realms and experience happiness, feeling content and joyful, and rejoice in the higher realms and definite goodness attained by others.

The cause of the earth is the accumulation of merit and wisdom. Even if there is no disturbance of body and mind that increases from oneself, one should rejoice in it from the perspective of thought, and rejoice in all the vast merits generated by the complete, mature, and pure three qualities of the perfect Buddhas, and by the aspirations and practices of princes and Bodhisattvas. The benefit of doing so is that I will not steal the roots of virtue of others. As it is said in Dandin's poetics, regarding the way to obtain merit that can be used as a model for stealing: Once upon a time, King Light of Kosala continuously offered to the Tathagata, including his disciples, day and night. At that time, a poor man wandering in the street practiced rejoicing. When it came time for the dedication in the evening, the teacher said: Great King, should the special merit of today be dedicated in the name of the King, or in the name of those who have obtained merit other than you? The king replied: If there is someone greater than my merit, please dedicate it in his name.

The supplication is as follows: For sentient beings shrouded in the darkness of suffering, please light the lamp of Dharma. Thus, like Brahma, urging with aspiration, courage, and generosity; like the venerable Rahula, urging with skill in asking and answering; like the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara and the Lord of Secrets, urging with skill in urging profound and vast subjects; like the noble Inexhaustible Intelligence and the Licchavi Vimalakirti, urging with skill in means through one's own confidence, thus, focusing on the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues, and actually urging virtuous spiritual friends who possess names and meanings. By doing so, the fault of abandoning the Dharma will be purified, and in all lifetimes, one will uphold the sacred Dharma. Sixth, requesting the Buddhas not to pass into nirvana: Seeing that this world, abandoned by the Buddhas and their heirs, temporarily relies on suffering, therefore, piling up the value of all things on a throne that is not nirvana. If the teacher and disciples do not exist, then his teachings will also decline. If there are no teachings, then the acceptance and rejection of actions and their results will not be known, therefore, one will only engage in the causes and effects of suffering, and will be abandoned by the path of liberation, even if one possesses the basis of a good rebirth, one will be reduced to a single state of disadvantage. Having thought in this way, just as the layman Cunda requested our teacher not to pass into nirvana, focusing on the Buddhas residing in limitless realms, and actually offering sustenance to those who have become supreme beings, and repeatedly requesting them to remain for a long time. Thus, as a result of a similar cause, one will not die untimely. Seventh, the limb of dedication: Even the white virtue that trembles with self-grasping is a single cry of elevation in samsara; the alchemy of dedicating to bodhichitta is not found in the teachings of other teachers. Thus, good deeds aimed at the happiness and fruit of samsara, mixed with self-grasping, are called concordant merit, and the fruit will ripen once and then be exhausted. Similarly, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas
