Bowing with a genuine body, displaying realization with reverence in the heart, the container of clasped hands tightly holding flowers, is the ascetic practice of a small bird. Naturally, in order to reveal the mind's realization from the body's posture, when I am before the Tathagata and his retinue, I do not sit with a coquettish demeanor, nor with a gloomy face, nor with a careless flippancy, but rather I restrain myself with shyness, lower my gaze, and with hands clasped, placing flowers at my heart, abide with a mind of reverence, fear, caution, shame, and embarrassment, as it is said in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: "Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and all those with unobstructed vision, before all those beings, I constantly abide." Having thought thus, with shame, reverence, and fear, one should always practice. Thus. The Sugata, endowed with knowledge and conduct, etc., all virtues abiding like an eon, when arriving in the garden of faith, not with sorrow but with hair standing on end. Thus, the body's expression stimulates the mind's nature of faith, the Buddhas endowed with knowledge and conduct, etc., as previously mentioned, all endless virtues and the compassionate gaze, as if time has passed in other realms, and becoming solely the guests of our faith, holding our breath, and the body merely with hair standing on end, generating a strong feeling of faith. As it is said in the Sagaramati-pariprccha: "Then Sagaramati's hair stood on end, and he took refuge in the Bhagavan." This is representative. Having thus generated faith, one should offer the seven branches, as the noble Asanga said: "Bodhisattvas who wish to quickly realize enlightenment should, three times during the day and three times during the night, perform prostration, offering, confession, rejoicing, urging to turn the wheel of Dharma, requesting not to pass into nirvana, and dedicating to enlightenment." As it is said, the supreme offering is the seven branches, the best of accumulating merit and purifying obscurations, of which the first branch, the branch of prostration, is: Like a new moon entering a bathing pond, the peacock's daughter is charming.

Like a dance. The number of youth can be found like the number of dust particles; Extremely Confusion arises, hands are busy. To this, the meaning of prostration is the supreme of the limbs, the meaning of the head touching the ground. Joining the palms like a lotus bud, and then separating them, is a common feature of prostration. As stated in the Great Liberation Sutra: "Like a lotus about to bloom, join the palms on the head, with immeasurable clouds of bodies, prostrate to the Buddhas of the ten directions." Among them, the primary way of prostration is like a tree lying on the ground, the whole body respectfully stretched out on the ground, this is called the prostration of Dipamkara Buddha. If this cannot be done, then with the five-limbed prostration, the head touches the ground, and the other four limbs also touch the ground accordingly. In addition, joining the palms at the head, throat, and heart three times, while visualizing the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, then joining the palms, and then prostrating the five limbs three times, this is called ninefold prostration. Also, such as when prostrating to a Lama, first there are three greeting prostrations, then offering gifts three times, then greetings three times, this is also called ninefold prostration. Starting from the heel of the object of prostration, embracing with the hands, this is called knee-embracing prostration. The Acharyas touch the feet of the object, and then touch their own heads with their hands, in the same direction. Here, do as much prostration as possible, and then with the five-limbed prostration, while visualizing transforming bodies equal to the number of dust particles in the field to prostrate. Regarding benefits, it is said in the Vinaya Sutra: "Monks, you prostrate with faith to the stupa of the Tathagata's hair and nail relics, the result of which is that before anger arises towards those practicing Brahmacharya, you will enjoy the happiness of a Chakravartin king equal to the number of dust particles from the great golden earth to the foundation, and you will be reborn among gods and humans." Thus, even for those who seek the happiness of higher realms, there are such benefits, let alone the merit of prostrating for the sake of generating Bodhicitta, which is inconceivable, and will ultimately lead to the state of peace.
