Therefore, as stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Giving is equal to taking that meaning, following oneself with all, speaking pleasantly and acting meaningfully, and desiring unity of meaning." Thus, all that accomplishes benefit and happiness for sentient beings, either directly or indirectly, through the means of being gathered by the four objects of gathering and being held by the mind of enlightenment, is the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. However, in the Bodhisattva Grounds, the ways of benefiting others are summarized into twelve aspects, which will be explained below based on examples. Thus, the nature of the three disciplines of a Bodhisattva is stated in the Jewel Heap Sutra: "Among them, the discipline of restraint protects the mind from non-virtue. The discipline of gathering virtuous qualities manifests virtuous roots. The discipline of benefiting sentient beings is devoted to benefiting others." Thus, both the Pratimoksha and the Bodhisattva vows are superior, with the Bodhisattva mind surpassing the Pratimoksha in four ways: the Pratimoksha only prevents harm to others, while the Bodhisattva adds benefit to that; the Pratimoksha encompasses seven abandonments, focusing on body and speech, while the Bodhisattva focuses on all ten abandonments. Among them, the precepts of the Pratimoksha are included as one aspect of the training for ordained individuals who hold the Bodhisattva vows, but for ordained individuals who are not Bodhisattvas, they are practiced as superior Dharma by adding training. Thus, the Pratimoksha relies on restraining misconduct in one's own mind and preventing harm to others. The Bodhisattva adds benefit on top of not harming others, possessing all three: restraining misconduct, gathering virtuous qualities, and benefiting sentient beings. The Pratimoksha mainly acts with body and speech, encompassing seven abandonments, while the Bodhisattva mainly acts with ten abandonments, including intention, as stated in the Compendium of Perfections: "It is the path of happiness for higher realms and liberation, one should not deviate from these ten paths of action. By abiding in this, with the intention to benefit beings, the difference in intention will have results. One should properly restrain speech, body, and mind, in short."

Thus is morality, thus the Buddha said. Thus, then, besides knowing what is permitted and prohibited, the way to learn is that the special place of learning is during individual liberation. For the sake of others, what is prescribed is not transgressed. If a Bodhisattva transforms for the sake of others, the seven non-virtues of body and speech, knowing that they transform and will transform for the sake of others, and that one's own accumulation of merit does not obscure its increase, there are times when permission is granted after examining the three situations. Like the black man with a short spear with great mental strength, and the Brahmin boy Star as examples, the fault in form is actually virtuous. Because it is done with a mind that has the power of cause and effect. There is no time to permit the three of mind. In this, the vows of individual liberation do not permit transgression of what is prescribed, even if it is for the sake of others. A Bodhisattva transforms for the sake of others, and knows that it will transform, and that one's own virtue exceeds it without interruption, and that it increases with the power of mental attraction, there are times when permission is granted after examining the three situations. As it is shown in the teaching of the ten virtuous paths of action, those who do not have the slightest regard for their own benefit, and whose actions only desire the benefit of others, and who are always endowed with compassion, except for the three evil deeds of mind, or only except for wrong view, are generally allowed. For this, one should refer to the treatises on the establishment of the Bodhisattva vows. So it is said. The two aspirations are only examined with sharp intelligence at the root of the initial arising, and their nature must be continuously connected with the mind of benefiting others, so they arise from the path of mental action, and the two can also be summarized as times of permission. Some people rely on this and think that when Manjushri's (འཇམ་དཔལ།) (文殊菩萨) faith declines and he enters the Materialists, there is no mention of transgression, so it is unreasonable to use this as an example. Because the prescribed precepts follow the eyes and ears, they show that wrong views arise from body and speech, but the unprescribed precepts are from the aspect of mind, and they are skilled in the means of taming them, and because there is no wrong view, they proclaim the qualities of the Three Jewels in between. Wrong view itself is everything.
