Those (offerings) eliminate the fault of merely wandering in words due to severing ties with the objects of offering, and even if one does not have cluttered objects, one should not cling to the sole aspect of the object even though one has one's own body, etc. Therefore, one should also offer one's own body as a seat to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. As Shantideva said, "To the Buddhas and their sons, I offer this body of mine as a seat; may the supreme heroes gladly accept me." Also, as it says in the Vajra Sequence, "The Bodhisattvas of the ten directions and their retinues, the powerful Buddhas, now me, future sentient beings by nature, offer the body for three needs, transform into a vessel for supreme merit." This means that offering the body with faith to the Sugatas of the ten directions and their retinues, and to the past Buddhas who have guidance now, is necessary to obtain the five wisdoms of body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities; offering the body to the powerful, i.e., the present Buddha Lama, is necessary to become a vessel suitable for obtaining the supreme wisdom of all Buddhas; offering the body to the realm of sentient beings who will become Buddhas in the future, i.e., those who possess the all-pervading Tathagatagarbha, is necessary to perfectly accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. Therefore, it says, "Offer the body for three needs to the Tathagatas, the powerful, and sentient beings." It is said like this. Vowing to be a servant of the Three Jewels, the cool shade of the beautiful Sal tree flowers, even in the presence of the various chaotic Yamarajas, the value of dispelling anger is immeasurable. Like this, if one takes refuge in the Three Jewels, it has great meaning, because their compassionate shade is like sentient beings tormented by heat in the hellfire pit, who can catch their breath under the shade of the blossoming Sal tree. Whenever one is seized by various fierce Yamaraja messengers, the angry frowns of being regarded as one's own and being extremely frightened will also disappear in the moment of remembering the Three Jewels, and there is no doubt that the lords of compassion with immeasurable value will protect them. The reason is that whoever sees the messengers of Yamaraja,
