In order to demonstrate the preliminary practice of accumulating merit, the clean and beautiful place should be swept and sprinkled with saffron-scented water. Thinking only of the Three Jewels in one's heart, one should rejoice in making offerings and enjoy arranging the display. The temples of the three ancestral kings (མེས་དབོན་གསུམ།), and the pure rooms such as the practice places blessed by the holy ones, or the places far from sinful beings, should be carefully cleaned. This is called "Exhibiting Purity and Beauty." There, one should also apply saffron and good-smelling incense water, the five essences, and scatter cool flowers. Just as one cherishes a guest in one's heart, without seeking praise from others or being arrogant, but rather to make offerings to the excellent and supreme field of merit, the Three Jewels, how abundant is this merit! The roots of virtue will not be wasted! Keeping in mind that one has obtained the best benefit, one should then arrange umbrellas, victory banners, flags, pennants, nets, half-nets, scattered flowers, jeweled-topped fly-whisks, ladi, curtains, and so on. Also, offering water, foot-washing water, mouth-washing water, and the four kinds of incense offerings, each with its own vessel. There are also flowers, incense, lamps, scented ointments, food, and various musical instruments, such as cymbals, round drums, clay drums, single-sided clay drums, mṛtaṃgi (Sanskrit: मृदङ्ग, Romanized Sanskrit: mṛdaṃga, Literal meaning: drum), paṭaha (Sanskrit: पटह, Romanized Sanskrit: paṭaha, Literal meaning: drum), pīvaṃ (Sanskrit: पीवं, Romanized Sanskrit: pīvaṃ, Literal meaning: flute), lutes, conch shells, various flutes, iron bells, hand bells, chimes, cymbals, and so on, as well as various musical instruments from the holy lands and the snowy mountains, whatever can be obtained should be arranged. Inviting all the images of vows there, the ritual of inviting and dissolving the wisdom beings is: because the remembrance of intimate vows is faster than lightning, the Buddhas will stop looking at other realms. This is said to mean that in that place, the supports of body, speech, and mind are arranged, and the mandala of the assembly is set up, which is the meaning of manifestation. The blessed images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, as well as the volumes of Mahayana scriptures, etc., whatever can be obtained, should be placed with great respect.

After the supplication, as mentioned in the Bodhicaryāvatāra, or starting from below, bless the land, construct the bathroom, etc. Visualize that place as an immeasurable palace that is even wider than the realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds, beautiful and pleasing. The words to invite to the lotus sun-moon silk seat come from the Moon Treasury Sutra: "Arise, arise, god with ten powers!" and so on. Also, as mentioned in the Supreme Wisdom Sutra, all sentient beings, etc., invite the wisdom being, and welcome with incense and various musical instruments. In this way, one might wonder from where did they come? Where do they reside? In reality, there is no coming from anywhere, but from the place of self-nature. In reality, there is also no residing anywhere, but in that very place transformed by the mind. As it is said in the Jewel Heap Sutra: "Whoever remembers the Buddhas, He dwells before them, Constantly blesses and liberates, Purifies all sins." Thus, those with faith pray and invite, and the Buddha, with the wisdom of knowing, knows, with the continuous compassion of love, gazes, and all activities and deeds appear solely for the benefit of others, so the reason for appearing from the Dharmadhatu in the form of a body is obvious to those who see the truth of the Dharma. Here, for the time being, in order to imitate King Knowing the Time, the order of inviting and bathing: Whoever is the refuge and friend of all sentient beings without exception, and also the enemy of the hordes of demons, Knowing and seeing such and such, Bhagavan, please come to my altar. Not a manifestation of karma, the place of descent, The bathroom pavilion is fragrant, The ground of crystal and jewels has pillars and beams, There, hang banners of turquoise, red, and pearl jewels. The excellent sons of the Sugata lineage, From the jewel vase filled with fragrant water, The beautiful young women who perform the bathing ceremony, Compete to offer pleasant music and songs. Deer-eyed ones skilled in the rituals of close touch, Diligent servants who wipe and massage, The splendor of the senses, not staying in one color, Buy divine clothes that do not need to be woven. Pañjali sold by the wish-fulfilling tree, Suppressed by heavy objects.
