Overpowering the golden ornaments of the Buddha's qualities, and not abandoning the name of Bodhisattva, it completely reverses all poverty in samsara. Furthermore, in the chapter of Ajatashatru, the great Kashyapa said: Manjushri, for example, a lion cub that has not been born for long, even though its strength and skills are not complete, wherever the scent of the lion cub is carried, the herds of wild animals cannot bear that scent and flee. Those elephants that are tightly bound by strong ropes, upon smelling the scent of the lion cub, will be terrified and, along with their companions, cut the ropes that bind them, and flee wherever they please. Those who dwell in mountain caves return to the mountain caves, those who dwell in holes return to the holes, those who dwell in water enter the water, and the birds fly into the sky. Manjushri, likewise, even if the power of a Bodhisattva's wisdom is not yet complete, as soon as they generate the mind of enlightenment, they will overpower all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and all demons will be frightened and uneasy in their own abodes, and will not be happy in their own abodes. Furthermore, in the Kashyapa chapter, it says: Kashyapa, it is like releasing the moon disc, no one ever bows to the stars. Kashyapa, likewise, wise people should also let the Bodhisattvas who have entered my teachings go, and never bow to the Shravakas. Kashyapa, it is like bowing to the waxing moon, but not to the full moon. Kashyapa, likewise, those who have faith in me should bow to the Bodhisattvas, but not to the Tathagatas. Why is that? Because the Tathagatas are born from the Bodhisattvas, and all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are born from the Tathagatas. Considering such reasons, the perfect Buddha himself also vowed to honor the Bodhisattvas. In the Ratnarashi Sutra, it says: Ananda, what do you think? If a person's hands and feet are cut off, can they live? He replied: Bhagavan, they can live. The Bhagavan said: How about if the heart is taken out, can they live? He replied: Bhagavan, they cannot live. The Bhagavan said: Ananda, it is like that.

Like hands and feet are Shariputra and Maudgalyayana. The heart is like the Bodhisattvas. Ananda, if a Bodhisattva enters a chariot and enjoys the five desirable qualities, and there is no one else to drive that chariot, Ananda, that Bodhisattva's chariot can even be placed on the head of the Tathagata. Even if elders like Shariputra and Maudgalyayana abide in the three doors of liberation for a kalpa or more than a kalpa, the Tathagata would not diligently attend to and serve them. Thus it was said. Therefore, the benefits of generating the mind of enlightenment cannot be touched even by the edge of the sky, nor can they be contained in the ocean. Even if one were to speak for as many kalpas as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, one could not fathom the end of the qualities of the accumulation of merit. One should aspire to it wholeheartedly and, through the door of benefits, climb the chariot of joy day and night. Who would not generate the mind of enlightenment? Why? Because for each mind that desires to benefit the immeasurable and boundless realm of sentient beings, an accumulation of merit equal to the sky arises. There is no doubt about this. As it is said in the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son: Monks, the accumulation of qualities of the mind of enlightenment, which is endowed with all-knowing wisdom, even if the Tathagatas were to speak of it for as many kalpas as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, they could not express it completely. Why is that? Because when the Tathagata formerly practiced the conduct of a Bodhisattva, not even a single thought lacking benefit arose for all those sentient beings whom he gathered as sentient beings. The realm of sentient beings is immeasurable. Just as the realm of sentient beings is so vast, so too, when the Tathagata practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, from each generation of the mind of enlightenment, that many accumulations of merit arise. Why is that? Monks, the realm of sentient beings is inexhaustible. Just as the realm of sentient beings is inexhaustible, so too, when the Tathagata practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, from each generation of the mind of enlightenment, an inexhaustible accumulation of merit arises. Thus it was said.
