For example, diligence is like a vajra, meditation is like a mountain, wisdom is like medicine, skillful means are like a spiritual friend, aspiration is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, power is like the sun, and prajnaparamita is like a song. These are the states of the cause, the objects of practice of the path of seeing and meditation, possessed sequentially from the first to the tenth bhumis. Like the king of clairvoyance, like the treasury of the two accumulations, like the great path that is in harmony with the aspects of enlightenment, like the good steeds of compassion and insight, and like the spring of eloquence and adorned with dharani, these five are encompassed by the extraordinary path and pervade all three pure lands. Like the musical instrument of the feast of Dharma, like the river of the one and only path, and like the clouds that are equally endowed with the Dharmakaya, these three are only present on the tenth bhumi, because wisdom and activity are inconceivable and benefit sentient beings. Thus, these eight that abide together, such as clairvoyance, are the states of the result and pervade all. Although it is said thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras it says, "The bodhicitta of the sons of the Victorious Ones is shown to be like clouds." Therefore, these twenty-two are spoken of from the path of accumulation to the tenth bhumi. The eleven do not combine with the fruit of Samantaprabha, because in the ultimate bodhicitta attained by the nature of reality on the Buddha bhumi, the limits of entering or exhaustion are not observed. Thus, having shown the distinctions of the bhumi boundaries, now, in order to draw out certainty about the qualities of aspiration and entry individually, whoever strives for their own good, in the gate that is always without interruption, does not give rise to disturbance in the mind of the beggar, that is called unceasing generosity. If it is worthy of praise, then even just a single moment of altruistic bodhicitta that benefits all sentient beings can cut off the gates of the lower realms, and in the lineage of gods and humans, the merit of enjoying happiness is inexhaustible. Thus, the thought focused on one's own benefit is insignificant, like the householder Anathapindika giving food, for the sake of giving, the door is not closed, and the mind of the beggar is not contradicted, whoever is respected by people, as in the Bodhicaryavatara.
