Thus, when the cause is fully matured, whatever and to whomever, by whatever means it is done, it benefits, then to that and to that, that appears. Even though the king of gods sends down rain, if the seed is not good, it will not sprout. Even though all the Buddhas have come, those without merit do not experience goodness. Thus it is said. Emanation is of three kinds, namely craftsmanship, birth, and likewise, the supreme emanation of enlightenment. This emanation body of the Buddha is the great means of liberation. As it says, craftsmanship emanation refers to all things that benefit sentient beings, whether made by fabrication, represented by customs, writings, and scriptures, or naturally accomplished. Birth emanation is the ability to transform into leprosy and other forms to cure diseases, to transform into a great fish to avert famine, and to protect from great fears, like the lion king with a mane. The supreme emanation is when, in impure realms, one abides in the form body from the Dharma body, and demonstrates the twelve deeds of the Buddha, encompassed by the three bodies, like Shakyamuni Buddha. As it says in the Uttaratantra Shastra: "With great compassion, knowing the world, having gazed upon all the world, without moving from the Dharma body, with various natures of emanation, he shows birth and descending from the Tushita heaven, entering the womb and being born, being skilled in the place of craftsmanship, enjoying the retinue of consorts, renunciation and practicing austerities, going to the heart of enlightenment, subduing the hosts of demons and perfecting, the wheel of the Dharma of enlightenment, and the acts of passing into nirvana. In all impure realms, he shows existence as long as samsara lasts." Thus it is said. The second, the distinction of the dependent wisdom, is knowing the suchness of Dharma and knowing all that is to be known. The first is the direct knowledge of the Dharma nature, which is the essence of oneself and all that is to be known, such as cause and effect, free from the extremes of elaboration. It is also called the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, because the Dharma nature is extremely peaceful. As it is said in the intermediate Mother Sutra: "Knowing one Dharma is called knowing all Dharmas, which is the aspect of the peaceful Dharma nature." Thus it is said. The second has three aspects. First, from the aspect of its own nature, the essence of oneself

And, with respect to all knowledge such as cause and effect, directly knowing them like illusions, without mixing or erring, more than before, with which aspects, which signs, and which characteristics are the dharmas described in detail, those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics, the Tathagata has realized. Thus it is said. Secondly, from the perspective of classification, there are mirror-like wisdom, equality wisdom, discriminating wisdom, and accomplishing wisdom. Thirdly, from the perspective of their causes, there are two: the cause of eliminating antidotes is to hear and hold many kinds of Dharma in the path of learning, to meditate on the equality of self and others, to teach the Dharma to those who can be tamed in accordance with their abilities, and to be a companion in accomplishing the benefit of others, thereby purifying the stains of the four wisdom grounds of one's own state and becoming the cause of accomplishment. The Ornament of the Sutras says: "Because of holding and because of equality of mind, because of truly teaching the excellent Dharma, and because of accomplishment, the four wisdoms truly arise." Thus it is said. The cause of the intention of self-nature is merely the transformation from the aspect of the power of the obscuring afflictions above the wisdom of one's own state being revealed. Thus, the eight consciousness aggregates of the impure state, including the basis of all, the Alaya, are transformed and appear as wisdom. The Sutra Entering the Three Bodies says: "The Alaya dissolving into the Dharmadhatu is the Dharmadhatu. The Alaya consciousness dissolving into the Dharmadhatu is mirror-like wisdom. The mind consciousness dissolving into the Dharmadhatu is equality wisdom. The afflicted mind dissolving into the Dharmadhatu is discriminating wisdom. The five sense consciousnesses dissolving into the Dharmadhatu is accomplishing wisdom." This is clear. In reality, from the perspective of self-characteristics, afflictions and wisdom are extremely contradictory, and transformation is impossible, but this is how it is nominally established in terms of what is to be purified and the result of purification. If they are not pure, then the established qualities of self-nature will not appear. The respective self-natures are that the nature of mirror-like wisdom has five dharmas, as the Ornament of the Sutras says: "Mirror-like wisdom has no I, is completely uninterrupted, is always present, and for all that is to be known.
