Since the light of the Dharma of the path to enlightenment shines very brightly, the name 'Radiant' is added. Like this, the Dharmas in harmony with the path to enlightenment are like a fire that burns intensely. Because it is associated with it, that ground is radiant because it burns both. That is what is said. The medium small fifth ground, Difficult to Train: The person on the fourth ground contemplates the truth in various ways and does not turn towards samsara, and turns his mind away from the path of nirvana, and cannot meditate on the path to enlightenment that is grasped by skillful means, whereas the person on the fifth ground is able to do so, possessing the distinction of perfecting all aspects. That is, by repeatedly contemplating the aspects of truth, the perfection of meditation is predominant. To abide and meditate repeatedly on the path to enlightenment grasped by skillful means, and to perfect it, is very difficult to train, therefore the name 'Difficult to Train' is added. In order to fully ripen sentient beings, and in order to protect one's own mind, it is difficult for the wise to train, therefore it is called 'Difficult to Train.' That is what is said. The medium medium sixth ground, Manifest: The person on the previous ground separately examines entering into samsara and is weary, so he cannot evenly place the mind stream in the absence of characteristics, whereas the person on the sixth ground is able to do so, possessing the distinction of perfecting all aspects. That is, on that ground, the bodhisattva abides by meditating on dependent origination, therefore the perfection of wisdom is predominant. Because he has attained abiding in the absence of characteristics, it is called that all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana are manifest. Relying on the perfection of wisdom, samsara and nirvana, both are manifest here, therefore it is called the Manifest Ground. That is what is said. The medium great seventh ground, Gone Afar: In the state of the person on the sixth ground, although he has attained abiding in the absence of characteristics, he cannot continuously abide in the absence of characteristics without interruption, whereas the person on the seventh ground is able to abide in the absence of characteristics without interruption, possessing the distinction of perfecting all aspects. That is, because all characteristics are understood as the absence of characteristics, and he does not prevent the terminology of naming with characteristics, therefore the perfection of skillful means is predominant.

It is connected with the one and only path, and it is very far away from samsara, so it is called the Far-Going Ground. Because it is connected with the one and only path. It means reaching a distant place. As it is said in the 'Praise of Dharmadhatu': 'Having crossed the sea of samsara without mud, it is therefore called the Far-Going Ground.' The small of the great, the eighth ground, the Immovable Ground, is the first of the three pure grounds. From here, the five sense consciousnesses undergo transformation, and therefore one has power over the pure Buddha-fields. The Ornament Sutra says: 'Because the mind, grasping, and discrimination are transformed, it becomes non-discrimination, and the pure land is purified by wisdom, and mastery is the state of the four aspects.' Therefore, in the state of the seventh ground, one cannot meditate on the state of spontaneously accomplishing and abiding without the sign of entering, but the eighth ground can do so, possessing the distinction of complete accomplishment. That is, because one applies oneself to the aspect of virtue that abides in spontaneous accomplishment and is without signs, the perfection of aspiration predominates. The non-discriminating wisdom transcends the dharma of signs and is not moved by effort, therefore it is called the Immovable Ground. Because it is not moved by the two perceptions, it is called the Immovable Ground. The middle of the great, the ninth ground, the Good Intelligence Ground, the eighth ground is powerless to master the teaching of all dharmas by distinguishing them in detail with various names and definitions, etc., but in the state of the ninth ground, one obtains the intelligence of individual correct knowledge, and therefore possesses the distinction of complete accomplishment. That is, because one possesses the merit of the power of wisdom that has obtained the four individual correct knowledges, the perfection of power predominates. And because one is skilled in proclaiming the sound of the Dharma from all aspects to all places, and one has obtained the merit of faultless intelligence, it is called the Good Intelligence Ground. Individual correct knowledge is good intelligence, that ground is the Good Intelligence Ground. The great of the great, the tenth ground, the Cloud of Dharma Ground, in the state of the ninth ground, one is powerless to show the appearance of emanations to the Buddha-fields and the assembly of retinues, to fully enjoy the Dharma, and to ripen sentient beings, but the tenth ground obtains the merit of being able to do so.
