The necessity of land is also mentioned in the Treasury of Knowledge: "For the purity of the beginning, end, and middle, and for the reversal of ignorance." Third, Nirvana is dependent origination, which exists in both the path and the result. The path is the dependent origination of samsara, which enters into the twelve links of dependent origination. The root of this great ignorance is reversed by the wisdom of knowledge, and other factors such as action also reverse, cutting off the root of existence. Therefore, a person who sees the characteristics of dependent origination understands suffering, abandons the origin of suffering, realizes cessation, and sees the supreme path. Here, the path is the dependent origination of samsara, the cause of entering into the twelve links of dependent origination, or the root is only ignorance. Therefore, by reversing ignorance through the wisdom of hearing, thinking, and meditating, and by familiarizing oneself with the continuum, one reverses ignorance, which is the root of all arising from universal conceptualization, various conceptualizations, improper attention, and views that cling to self. In this way, the root of samsara, such as action, will involuntarily cease, cutting off the cause of entering samsara, and thus one will be liberated from the ocean of samsara. As it is said in the Root Wisdom: "If ignorance ceases, then actions will not arise. Ignorance ceases because of contemplating it with wisdom. Because that and that cease, that and that do not arise. Only the aggregate of suffering ceases, thus it is rightly ceased." Therefore, since all phenomena are non-different in essence and depend on dependent origination for their establishment, seeing this characteristic correctly enables childish beings, who are attached to objects without inherent existence, to wander in samsara and experience suffering. Furthermore, by realizing that the dharma, which takes the origin of suffering as its object, is also without self, the consciousness that discriminates each of the five aggregates ceases in a state of naturally unborn. As it is said in the Noble Supreme Cloud Sutra: "How does a Bodhisattva become skilled in non-self? Son of good family, here, a Bodhisattva individually analyzes form with correct wisdom, and individually analyzes feeling, perception, action, and consciousness."

That is, if one separately examines form, one does not see the arising of form, one does not see the origin, and one does not see the cessation. Similarly, one does not see the arising of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. This is actually through the wisdom that abides in the ultimate truth of no arising, and not through a different own-being. So it is said. Therefore, in the ultimate truth, the pacification of the state of mind that sees even nirvana as dependent on conditions is called the great non-seeing, which is the supreme path of seeing all phenomena as without self and own-being. As it is said in the sutra: Non-seeing is the supreme seeing. And in the Noble Lankavatara Sutra: Others, seeing that all phenomena depend on conditions, transform into the mind of nirvana, but because they do not see the selflessness of phenomena, those great wise ones do not have liberation. Thus it was declared. Thus, appearance is established as unborn. After ascertaining this through thought, the nature of knowing its own nature is known as the wisdom of meditation. As it is said in the Noble Jewel Cloud Sutra: Thus, having distinguished the true meaning by the wisdom of thought, one generates the wisdom of meditation in order to realize it directly. Mere hearing and so forth do not directly realize the meaning. Thus it was declared. Among these, self-nature wisdom is the path of direct perception, holding the meaning of all phenomena being without self-nature as the wisdom of meditation. In the Noble Collection Sutra: Those who completely know that all phenomena are without self-nature are those who practice the supreme perfection of wisdom. Thus it is. Therefore, the wisdom of meditation is seeing the selflessness of phenomena, and naturally abiding in the meaning of selflessness, thereby seeing the wisdom of non-appearance. Although it cannot be meditated upon with a mind of conceptualizing reality and unreality, the name of meditation is applied to whatever mindfulness is placed near the sphere of wisdom that is primordially, naturally, and completely liberated. As it is said in the Noble Two Truths Sutra: Although it is completely unreal in the ultimate truth, one also meditates on the path in the conventional truth. And in the King of Samadhi Sutra: You should understand and believe in it. Thus it was declared.
