Chandrakirti considered that the arising of wisdom that accords with emptiness is said to be the realization of emptiness, but it is not the actual realization of emptiness. Therefore, even with the wisdom that understands that all phenomena do not exist in ultimate truth, it is not understood that all phenomena are merely nominal designations. Why? Because believing that emptiness is a non-affirming negation contradicts the affirming negation that speaks of the non-existence of things. As it is said in the conduct of Avalokiteśvara: "I have merely negated the existence of the aggregates in ultimate truth by way of negating non-existence, but I have not spoken of the non-existence of things by way of affirming negation." Like that. Even so, following the teacher Dharmakirti's statement that "negating non-existence is because it is nothing at all," there are also those who believe that the view of Madhyamaka is nothing at all. If one thinks that it is nothing at all and focuses on it with discriminating wisdom, then the coarse view that is as pervasive as space and as pervasive as the alaya-consciousness is likely to arise. The Bengali Pandit said that even the outer heretics do not have such a coarse tenet that admits the alaya-consciousness as omniscient. Therefore, if one knows that all phenomena are of the nature of dependent arising, that is the way to realize reality without error. Among them, what is dependent arising? It is the treasure of all phenomena without exception. With the wisdom of thought, it is the key to correct entry. Obtaining instruction in this way is the merit of the wisdom of hearing. Afterwards, with the wisdom of thought, understanding that dependent arising is unborn, one approaches the path of great Nirvana. In the Noble Great Nirvana Sutra, it says: "Noble son, all sentient beings are deluded by the four perversions of permanence, pleasure, self, and purity, and therefore they see impermanence, suffering, non-self, and impurity. In this way, the four perversions are cut off. Therefore, by the cause of thought, one will approach great Nirvana. The characteristics of birth and the characteristics of aging, etc., can also be liberated through thought. Noble son, virtuous

If one does not contemplate, others will not attain the Dharma. Why is that? If one listens to the Dharma for countless, immeasurable, and limitless eons, but does not contemplate, then one will never attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus it was declared. Therefore, one should examine with reasoning and scripture through the wisdom of contemplation, and if one can ascertain the true meaning, then the profound wisdom that accords with the aspect of definitely distinguishing the true meaning is only that which transcends the realm of conceptual thought. One should distinguish its specific nature and meditate on the path of direct perception. How should one meditate? As it is taught in "Displaying the Armor": Do not look at emptiness with emptiness, do not look at emptiness apart from emptiness. Whoever looks in that way is said to see emptiness. Thus it is. Furthermore, briefly, the manner of relying on dependent arising. As it is said in the Root Wisdom: There is no dharma that is not dependently arisen, therefore there is no dharma that is not emptiness. As it is said, there are three explanations of that, the first of which is the nature of dependent arising: All phenomena of appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana, do not come from anywhere, do not go anywhere, do not abide anywhere, dependent arising abides in its nature. The nature of phenomena itself is like arising and ceasing, appearing as emptiness from the very moment of appearance. Not abiding in the extremes of elaboration, it reveals the very nature of the Middle Way. Among these, appearance is deceptive and false, existence is deceptive and active, samsara is the origin and has its own nature, and nirvana is also the name given to the nature of inherent dharmata. Thus, all phenomena that appear as phenomena and dharmata do not come from anywhere in the beginning, so it is called unborn, not past. In the middle, it does not abide anywhere, so it is without inherent existence, not present. Finally, it does not go anywhere, so it is called unceasing, not future. As it is said in the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son: All these dharmas are equal in the equality of the three times. In the past, all dharmas are without inherent existence, so they are without inherent existence until the time of present arising. Thus it is. Furthermore, in this way, this appearance is merely appearing in various ways, but there is no basis for the illusion that it has become its own inherent nature. Thus, even in conventional truth, it does not exist. As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: Just as form
