Is detachment a different entity from the conventional truth? Or is it also inexpressible in itself, and not merely a difference that negates oneness? Furthermore, according to some who adhere to the Madhyamaka that follows the Sutra school, although external objects themselves do not appear directly in consciousness, the consciousness of objects entrusts its own image to the object. Thus, when an image similar to the object arises, they fully utilize the object in the manner of "object-awareness," and they believe that the grasper and grasped of different times exist conventionally. Some Yogacara Madhyamikas say that in the conventional, all that appears is the nature of consciousness, because there is no external object. They speak in accordance with the aspectarians. Some others believe that just as the clouds of the grasper that appear in dreams, and the hair that falls out when combing in the waking state, are neither the nature of the object nor of consciousness, so too are the mountains, houses, people, and forms of matter that are said to exist in the world empty of both external objects and the nature of consciousness. They appear to exist only because of the habitual imprints of beginningless ignorance. Therefore, they believe that the happiness that appears as the clouds of the grasper, which exists conventionally, is merely mind and mental factors. Such views are countless. However, just as the Hinayana Vaibhashikas believe that coarse objects are composed of aggregates of atoms, and that there is no self-awareness of mind and mental factors, there are other views as well. But in reality, there are many similarities, such as not accepting appearance as consciousness, and arising from a previous cause. Even if they accept self-awareness like the Cittamatrins, they only accept a mere awareness that is not distinguished as existent or nonexistent, as stated in the commentary: "By the self-awareness of each individual." Now, the view of the Prasangika Madhyamikas, who have reached the pinnacle of the reasoning vehicle, is as follows: Appearance itself is conventional, and emptiness is ultimate. It is merely established by terms, free from any extremes of elaboration. At the time of appearance, there is no arising, ceasing, going, or coming. Although they accept other-powered entities as conventional, they do not accept them as ultimately established. This is the unique characteristic of Nagarjuna and Chandrakirti, the great founders of the Prasangika chariot. Here, the lower schools

For all. Through debate and examination, the superior will not be mistaken. Thus, the nature of appearance is the conventional truth, and the nature of emptiness is the ultimate truth, etc. This is taught by the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, teaching all dharmas to be learned in the manner of the two truths. For those who see things in terms of formal roles and do not see the true meaning, this is merely attached by clinging thoughts based on nominal concepts. If the two truths truly exist, they should be regarded as one and indivisible. If they are one, then just as the conventional truth is abandoned, so too will the ultimate truth be abandoned. If the conventional truth is different, then the ultimate truth should also be so. If the conventional truth is defiled, then the ultimate truth should also be defiled. If they are different, then it will not become a subject of dharma, nor will it overwhelm the characteristics of conditioned phenomena. The practice of the path will also not become meaningful. Therefore, for one and different, because there is a self-sufficient reason, it will not become a consequentialist. The established philosophical system based on convention cuts off the vows of others, and because it is separated from all acknowledgments of self-sufficient reason, it mainly refutes the vows of others through the method of consequentialism, therefore it is called consequentialist. As the venerable Nāgārjuna said: If I have any proposition, then I would have that fault. Because I have no proposition, I am completely without fault. And as Āryadeva said: Existence and non-existence and both existence and non-existence, for whom there is no partiality, for him, even for a long time, it is not possible to utter blame. Nowadays, the difference of not acknowledging one's own nature, self-sufficiency, and self-awareness, considering the clinging to reality as afflictive obscuration, and the difference of not distinguishing between the subtle and coarse two selflessnesses, and the difference of acknowledging that the truth of cessation is the ultimate truth, and that the hearers and solitary realizers, the noble ones, are pervaded by the realization of the selflessness of phenomena, and the difference that the consciousness of ordinary beings is mistaken consciousness, and that the wisdom of investigation is considered a valid person, and the difference of wanting a common basis for mental manifestation and conceptualization, and that there are ordinary beings who directly realize subtle impermanence, and the difference of considering the three times as real, and merely understanding the sixteen aspects of coarse impermanence, etc., one cannot even enter the path of joining of any of the three vehicles, having this difference of projecting consequentialism. Therefore, in this philosophical system,
