In any case, all phenomena that can abandon the mind of clinging are conventional truths. For example, when the form of any object remains undamaged, the thought arises, "That is it." However, when it is destroyed by a hammer and anvil, etc., since the aspect of examination no longer exists, the coarse mind of clinging also ceases, which is the object of observation. Ultimate truth refers to those phenomena that cannot abandon the mind of self-grasping, even when destroyed by extremely subtle particles or destroyed and eliminated by reason, and are considered to be ultimately real. For example, indivisible atoms, indivisible moments of consciousness, and uncompounded phenomena. Therefore, conventional truth is synonymous with imputation, and ultimate truth is synonymous with substance. In general, this school refutes well the self of the person claimed by outsiders and acknowledges selflessness. Understanding its view is only a stepping stone to better understanding the view of the Sutra school. In addition, they also acknowledge that space is permanent, as well as co-emergent cause and effect, and cause and effect with five similarities, etc. They also consider the three times of past, present, and future to be substantial and real, so they never disappear, etc., which are very crude views. The Kashmir Sarvastivadins, in agreement with the Sutra school, acknowledge the continuum of karma as the basis for the relationship of karmic results. Regarding the classification of the path, they only establish the classification of the five paths based on the sixteen aspects of the four noble truths, such as impermanence, etc., and do not acknowledge the classification of the ten bhumis, etc. They believe that what is to be abandoned on these paths are the afflictive obscurations and the two types of ignorance that are the opposite of these. They believe that abandoning the former can attain the fruit of less than an Arhat, and abandoning the latter, non-afflictive ignorance, can attain the fruit of Buddhahood. They also believe that the sixteenth path, the path of subsequent knowledge, the path of meditation, and the fifteen moments of the path of seeing, all arise sequentially. From the perspective of the result, as mentioned earlier, they also believe that the fruit of less than an Arhat also has the nature of decline, so they acknowledge that it is possible to decline from the qualities of abandonment and realization that have been attained and become a Stream-enterer. They also believe that through practicing in connection with the sixteen paths of impermanence in three countless eons, one can attain...

Moreover, wanting to attain Buddhahood by abandoning both types of knowledge, consider our teacher. From the initial generation of bodhichitta until the subjugation of the Maras at night, he remained merely an ordinary being dwelling in the realm of liberation. His very name encompasses the four stages of the path of application, such as warmth, and the fifteen moments of the path of seeing. Having perfected these stages on the same seat, at dawn, through the samadhi of Vajra-like concentration, he uprooted non-afflicted knowledge from its source, thus aspiring to Buddhahood. This attainment of Buddhahood is none other than the knowledge of the exhaustion and non-arising of the mind-stream. The external physical body is the truth of suffering, so it is not desired to become a Buddha. When Devadatta threw a rock, the Buddha's manifestation of experiencing pain in his foot, etc., is not considered expedient but directly acknowledged as reality. However, from the perspective of the mind-stream, the altruistic activities after attaining Buddhahood are the activities of a Buddha; from the perspective of the body, he is considered an "Arhat with remainder." From Nirvana to entering the realm of no remainder, because the activities of matter and consciousness have ceased, the manifestation of emanations in other realms, etc., and the establishment of the complete enjoyment body are not recognized. Neither is the non-abiding Nirvana, separate from the remainder and no remainder, acknowledged. Similarly, for the four pairs of individuals and the eight types of persons, only their nominal designations are recognized, but because they are individuals, they are not considered the Sangha Jewel. Rather, the Dharma of learning and non-learning in their continuums is considered the Sangha Jewel. The Sutra School: Whatever has the ability to perform a function is ultimately existent here; the rest is conventionally existent. This is also explained through the definitions of self-characteristics and general characteristics. The tenets of the Sutra School are essentially in accordance with logic. Thus, from the perspective of clinging to reality, whoever acknowledges both external objects and self-awareness is an individual who has entered the exposition of the Lesser Vehicle's tenets; this is the definition of the Sutra School. From the perspective of classification, there are two types of Sutra School followers: those who follow the scriptures and those who follow reason. The former refers to those who wish to refute the seven treatises of the Abhidharma, such as Shariputra, which are acknowledged by the Vaibhashikas.
