It does not fall into samsara, and by the power of skillful means, it does not fall into nirvana. As it is said in the Collection of True Dharma: "The Bodhisattva who sees things as they truly are enters into great compassion for sentient beings." He also thinks like this: "I shall accomplish this samadhi gate of seeing all dharmas as they truly are for all sentient beings." He, urged by that great compassion, perfects the intention of higher morality, higher mind, and higher wisdom, and manifestly attains the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus it is said. Therefore, although Bodhisattvas see the ultimate truth, they do not abandon the conventional truth. Because they do not abandon the conventional truth, they engage in benefiting sentient beings with great compassion as their guide. From the "Treasury of Qualities, Joyful Rain," the chapter on the Four Immeasurables, which is the commentary on the seventh chapter. Commentary on the Eighth Chapter Thus, after making the mind-stream capable by the four immeasurables, which are the nature of aspiration, in order to show mainly the meaning of generating the mind of enlightenment, which is the nature of entering, whatever is obtained is excellent in meaning. The Bodhicitta obtained by the four immeasurables. By guiding the illusion of wish and action like a chariot. It causes the evil view of peace to decline. Thus, the adornment of words, the cause and effect of arising and accomplishing, are explained in the manner of abandoning and adopting. Striving for gain in meaning, just as the merit of focusing on it increases. The result of the four immeasurables as the cause is the jewel of Bodhicitta, the perfection of superior intention. Thus, the King of Sages, having contemplated and examined for countless eons, did not see any Dharma superior to this Great Vehicle Dharma. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Maitreya: "Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva possesses one Dharma, he abandons all the lower realms, does not enter into the hands of evil companions, and quickly attains the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment. What is the one Dharma? It is this Bodhicitta of perfect superior intention. Maitreya, if he possesses this Dharma, he abandons all"

Not falling into the hands of evil friends, may I swiftly attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Thus it is said. The path of the noble Hearers and Solitary Realizers is merely that of those with evil views who, with minds of peace, temporarily settle in a place of rest. Saraha said: Those who enter emptiness devoid of compassion, they have not found the supreme path. Thus it is said. Therefore, that which is without deceit or pretense, not aimed at one's own benefit, is called higher intention. In the Bodhisattva Pitaka, it is said that those who wish to swiftly attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment should train in the mind of enlightenment with higher intention. Thus it is said. Even those bound by the prison of sinful suffering and cyclic existence, the moment the mind of enlightenment arises, they will obtain the crown of the name of the Buddha's child, be extremely joyful, and be revered by the world with gods and humans. Thus, even if only aiming at temporary benefits, it is appropriate to generate the mind of enlightenment. Thus, sins such as hatred, and the multitude of sufferings arising from them, bind in extremely numerous ways in the prison of cyclic existence, that is, in the house bound by existence, even afflictions, in that instant of generating the mind of enlightenment, will obtain the name of the sons of the Sugatas, and are worthy of being revered by the world with gods and humans. As it is praised in the Arrangement of the Naga King: One who possesses the mind of enlightenment is the great offering stupa of all the world with gods. So it is praised. Now, if it is said that the mind of enlightenment arises on the first bodhisattva ground, the Joyful One, how can it arise in ordinary beings who are completely entangled by bonds? That is spoken with regard to the Dharma, this is spoken with regard to those who have truly taken up the symbolic, therefore it can arise even in those who are not noble ones, it should be understood as explained in the profound Sutra Pitaka. Its opposite side: From amidst the thick clouds of karma and affliction, like a flash of fierce lightning, a virtue that appears only occasionally, a meager merit that one is accustomed to, like a water tree, its roots are harmed by its fruits. Thus, a virtue not seized by the supreme mind of enlightenment, only obtaining the fruit of gods and humans, or Hearers, or Solitary Realizers, its power will be completely exhausted.
