Furthermore, the activity of manifesting the form body is the Samadhi of Heroic Progress. For example, when a hero enters the battlefield, the four divisions of the army follow; when a Chakravartin King travels, the seven precious objects also follow; just as the courage and steadfastness of a hero reside in the sound, meaning, and definitive words of overcoming others. Similarly, wherever a Bodhisattva who has attained this Samadhi goes, all the Dharmas of the aspects of Enlightenment follow, hence it is called the Samadhi of Heroic Progress. The culmination of this Samadhi's power is the eighth Bhumi. The path corresponding to it is also present in the Prayoga-marga (Path of Application), but only as practice through aspiration. The third is: What is the Anantarya-marga (Path of Immediate Result) that abandons the ninth abandonment of the peak of existence? As it says in the Abhidharmakosha: "The ninth Anantarya-marga, that is like a Vajra." Just as a Vajra destroys all things, so too does this destroy all subtle obscurations, hence it is called the Vajra-like Samadhi. It also has a way of being included by both the Lesser and Greater Vehicles. As it says in the Abhidharmasamuccaya: "What is the Vajra-like Samadhi? It is that which is included by the Prayoga-marga (Path of Application) and that which is included by the Anantarya-marga (Path of Immediate Result). That which is included by the Prayoga-marga is that which henceforth cannot be shaken by any obscurations, and all obscurations are destroyed. That which is included by the Anantarya-marga is that under which the knowledge of cessation and the knowledge of non-arising arise." Here, the meaning of non-action according to the Lesser Vehicle refers to the smallest of the small of the afflictive obscurations, or the decline of the subtle of the subtle of the obscurations of knowledge according to the Greater Vehicle. What is the Prayoga-marga? It is that which abandons the afflictions. Thus, during the time of the Prayoga-marga, until the essence of that path is attained, all obscurations cannot shake it, and it has the meaning of destroying all obscurations. The Vajra-like Samadhi included by the Anantarya-marga is the wisdom of the end of continuity, because the path of no more learning arises in the next moment. Therefore, since one attains unsurpassed Enlightenment by relying on those Samadhis, one should accomplish the general characteristic of all objects of knowledge, that is, the suchness, the non-conceptual meditation with suchness as its object, and the state of being of one taste.
