Gaga sounds, and the birds emit pleasant calls. Cool breezes gently sway. Mountain streams flow, making murmuring sounds. Beautiful deer run and frolic. Flowers bloom, as if smiling. The fragrance of sandalwood and other scents fills the air. Like this, the merits of the monastery benefit oneself and others, without seeking any reward. Why should a yogi with many friends feel weary? Worldly people are not like that. Thus it is said. Therefore, encouraging people to go to such a forest: Go there, those who desire meditation. In the midst of the enjoyment like the top of a cloud, life is like a playful lightning, flickering and trembling. Change and suffering are the robbers of the aggregates. The flood that produces destruction is noisy and chaotic. The desires of accumulating, guarding, and increasing are intertwined. Pride, stinginess, and miserliness exhaust life. Wandering in the endless ocean of bad destinies. Thus it is said, in the midst of worldly perfections, no one can achieve meditation, therefore, our teacher, in the practice of Bodhi, practiced for countless eons, also because he abandoned the kingdom of a wheel-turning king and went to a solitary place. Thus, worldly wealth, although it arises from the household, its nature can disappear in an instant, like a cloud that suddenly appears in the sky. Even if it exists for a short time, it is the nature of suffering, as stated in the Six Dharmas of Meditation: The work of the household is suffering, and it will never become happy. If a snake sees another dwelling, entering it will increase happiness. Thus it is said. For example, a snake in its own nest, being tormented by many young ones, cannot bear it, and after entering another cave, it obtains happiness. The life of the household is tired from farming, troubled by taxes and military service, and shortened by the fruits of similar causes such as killing. Trapped in the prison of the three sufferings. Most actions are contrary to karmic results, and are the source of destruction, like a harmful waterfall. Busy with accumulating, tired with guarding, and endless with increasing, these three desires disturb the mind, as stated in the Letter to a Friend: Accumulating, guarding, and seeking

Of suffering. Wealth should be known as the root of endless ruin. So it is said. If one becomes slightly wealthy, they become arrogant and hate the jealousy of others. They also become stingy, fearing the loss of wealth, and the origin of miserliness greatly increases, so they recklessly indulge in the evils of desire. Therefore, it will lead to endless falling into evil realms. In a letter to the Lama, it says: "With a clouded mind, deluded by desire, one destroys oneself and also destroys others. Even if the gods rain down desires like rain, those who possess desires will never be satisfied." So it is said. Therefore, if one abandons the source of all desires—the household—that suffering will disappear, so one must also be careful not to let the habits of household life creep into the monastic life, and strive to reduce activities, which is extremely important in this degenerate age. Showing that wealth is the root of suffering is: "With the value of clouds filled with deceit and trickery, the more wealth increases, the more suffering there is. Abandon those possessions that are harmed by enemies and thieves, and contentment is the peak of wealth." For worldly enjoyments, such as business, one must rely on many deceitful actions to obtain them, so one loses direction. Deceit is a cunning mind, and trickery is having the intention to deceive others. The combination of these two is like dark clouds in summer, experiencing suffering in the mind. Constantly tormented by desires, greed is strong. Accustomed to stealing secretly, lying, and focusing solely on one's own victory, so the bodhicitta severely declines. Seizing, harming other lives, slaves, porters, etc., suffering in distant places and on bad roads, in short, almost all non-virtuous deeds are experienced unknowingly, so the karmic results are very serious. Even if one becomes wealthy, they are not content. There are many enemies and thieves. Fearing the loss of existing enjoyments, desiring more, fighting and arguing with others, etc., the more wealthy one becomes, the greater and more numerous the sufferings become. As said before: "For the sake of worldly gain, there will be quarrels, without worldly gain there will be no quarrels. Completely abandoning worldly gain, happiness increases more than a water bird. For example, when a water bird catches a fish
