That is measured. In order to eliminate pain and harm, just like the pain of a body being injured, all doctors will treat and eliminate the discomfort of the disease. Therefore, in order to eliminate many sufferings, one should endure small discomforts. So it is said. Therefore, the path to the other shore is a place where one must give up one's life, so fear arises because one has not deeply understood. There is no mandatory constraint between the generation of the idea of difficult action, but rather a gradual adaptation according to one's own wisdom. This kind of ordinary medical treatment is not done by great doctors, but with very gentle rituals, countless serious diseases are treated. For the giving of vegetables and the like, the guide first prepares. After getting used to this, gradually, even giving up one's own flesh. When one has thoughts like vegetables and the like about one's own body, then what difficulty is there in giving up flesh and the like? This is to say that when habit reaches its extreme, The nature of samsara is empty, and the realization of illusion is firm, thus preventing attachment to oneself. The power of emptiness and great compassion increases, thus abandoning sins. The reason is reversed, and the result of feeling suffering will not arise. Abandoning sins, so there is no suffering. Because one is wise, there is no displeasure. Thinking perversely like this, sins will harm body and mind. Merit makes the body happy, and wisdom makes the mind happy. For the benefit of others, even if one remains in samsara, what is there to be sad about for those with compassion? So it is said. In short, all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future, none of them do not rely on diligence as an aid to the path of attaining enlightenment. In particular, our teacher, through thinking, the bodhisattvas Maitreya and others who generated bodhicitta earlier than himself, also attained enlightenment earlier due to the difference in diligence, and through reasoning, one should uplift one's own mind. As stated in the Ratnamegha Sutra: Bodhisattvas are like this, Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas, those who have already attained enlightenment, those who are attaining enlightenment, and those who will attain enlightenment, are also in this way.
