I protect with the initial action, which is the purity of the stage of faith and practice, abandoning dwelling in the seven impure grounds, and increasing dwelling in the three pure grounds is extensively explained in the Compendium of Trainings. The aspects that are not in accordance with it should be abandoned, as stated in the Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes: The non-concordant and concordant qualities, All their aspects being fully known, To abandon them, diligence, In its four aspects, arises excellently. Thus. A Bodhisattva who is sustained by such mindfulness and awareness, even the lifting and placing of steps, and the extension and contraction of limbs, are included in the nature of the six perfections, so the two accumulations are easily completed. Among them, the discipline of working for the benefit of sentient beings is: Being skilled in means, directly or indirectly, Diligently benefiting all sentient beings, Giving, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with others' intentions, And the discipline of gathering virtuous dharmas, has a wide gateway. Among them, first, the method of gathering disciples into a retinue based on the four objects of gathering has already been explained. The discipline of gathering virtuous dharmas is a training that is related to all three disciplines, so as a companion to the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, it also acts with a wide gateway of corresponding objects. The activity of the discipline of benefiting sentient beings is to benefit others and to mature their minds, as stated in the Bodhisattva Grounds: Being a companion to meaningful activities, removing the suffering of sentient beings, showing the means to those who do not know the means, repaying kindness and returning benefits, protecting those who are afraid, stopping the sorrow of those who are suffering, giving resources to those who have no resources, skillfully gathering the wheel of Dharma, acting in accordance with others' minds, making them happy with true qualities, skillfully subduing, and making them fear and believe with miracles. Thus. The first example is like when Anathapindika built the Jeta Grove, Shariputra acted as a companion. The second example is that a fish named "Powerful Blue Crocodile Fish" had eighteen heads, and the nets of five hundred fishermen caught it, and after being dragged ashore, it was very painful.

For example, the ascetic was saved from death by (the Buddha) and blessed to remember his previous lives. The third example is that the barber, a sinner of the near-kin caste, did not know the method of ordination, and Shariputra ordained him thanks to the kindness of Shakya Zangden. The fourth example is that when a great plague occurred in the holy city (Rajagriha), (the Buddha) praised the venerable Katyayana and his five hundred attendants, making them happy, and King Rab Snang offered the kingdom and the merits of desire in gratitude. The fifth example is that in Nyanyan Yod, five hundred merchants went to other places and were harassed by the Yaksha with an umbrella. They were frightened and prayed for refuge to non-protectors. Urged by a Buddhist layperson, they went to the Buddha for refuge. The Tathagata rescued them with his hand stretched out like an elephant's trunk. The sixth example is that King Ajatashatru was betrayed by the border petty kingdoms. The Naga Sog Ma Med became angry and dropped hail. The country and himself were struck by a severe plague and were in great suffering. At that time, the Bhagavan (Blessed One) had no resentment and went from Nyanyan Yod to Magadha and saved him from that suffering. The seventh example is that a very poor Brahmin was farming in the morning without eating. The Bhagavan arrived, and it happened that he came to deliver food to himself. The Brahmin had faith and offered the food to the Buddha. The Buddha poured the food into the well, and the well was filled. Then, the Teacher (Buddha) and the Sangha of monks enjoyed it together, but the well did not decrease, and the well was even more full. (The Buddha) taught him the Dharma of faith, and he realized the truth. Later, all the Brahmin's fields became golden ridges, ears of rice, and barley. Even though King Prasenajit collected one-sixth of the tax, the king's share became barley, while the Brahmin's share became gold, and his wealth was as abundant as utensils. The eighth example is that Jyotiska was blessed by Shakyamuni Buddha, who told the origin of the Nyagrodha tree. He asked the six non-Buddhist teachers about the path of Brahmacharya, but knew that it was not the path. He saw the Bhagavan residing in the Bamboo Grove Monastery in Rajagriha, prostrated at his feet, and said: Venerable One, the Bhagavan is my teacher, and I am your Shravaka.
