Now, if there is no prohibition, then respect accordance. Regarding this, if one is unable to uphold certain minor precepts other than the four defeats and the thirteen remainders of the Sangha, one should generate the mind of enlightenment and bless oneself. Regarding untimely food, or if one must eat repeatedly, in general, regarding the four types of discipline—nature, dharma, vows, and renunciation—those whose northern voices are unpleasant are naturally disciplined, so in that land, one can enjoy the mind of enlightenment. If one bathes at an improper time, thinking, "May I be allowed to bathe in order to prevent the fault of my own illness." If one needs to use extra clothes, or unsuitable white clothes and leather, thinking, "Because I lack a cushion, or am tormented by the cold, and my life is at stake, may I be allowed to enjoy this time." If one needs to touch and possess precious jewels, one should generate the mind of enlightenment, thinking, "It is allowed for the purpose of offering to the Three Jewels and accomplishing benefit for sentient beings." Furthermore, regarding the opening and closing that are not explicitly stated, one can understand through the mere indication of what is not shown in the scriptures. In the miscellaneous scriptures of the Vinaya, it says: "Monks, I have extensively taught you the Vinaya, but not in a concise manner. However, listen also to the concise version. Monks, for you, I have neither allowed nor prohibited anything from the beginning. If it is suitable and close to suitable, and prevents what is unsuitable, then it should be regarded as suitable. If it is unsuitable and close to unsuitable, and prevents what is suitable, then it is unsuitable, and therefore should not be practiced universally." This alone makes it easy to understand. As it is said in the "Three Hundred Verses": "Whatever is not allowed, and likewise not prohibited, that should be examined and adopted in accordance with what is said. The lamp called 'Condensed Vinaya,' the Tathagata also spoke of this similar teaching." In short, the Sarvastivada, the Mahasanghika, the Sthavira, and the Mahasamghika, it is impossible for all the precepts of these four schools not to be covered by the precepts established by the Teacher, therefore one can obtain freedom over all the precepts. Regarding this, after the Teacher passed into nirvana, when more than one hundred and thirty years had passed, all the goodness of the evil demons

A monk with dissenting views created a great schism in the Sangha based on five grounds, resulting in the division into two fundamental schools: the Sthavira and the Mahāsāṃghika. Furthermore, due to the schism, the Sthavira had ten divisions, and the Mahāsāṃghika had eight. During those times, the Sangha was divided and argued for sixty-three years, and finally, the son of the Sthavira resident correctly gathered the Dharma. At that time, the division of the Sangha was not a division of the Dharma wheel. The Abhidharmakośa states: "Initially, a single fault of the extreme, previously the Sage erred, and also in places where boundaries were not demarcated, a division of the Dharma wheel does not occur." Therefore, the one who divides is a qualified monk with views and conduct, and other than in the presence of the abbot, the ones to be divided are the Sangha of ordinary people, reaching eight, and ultimately, other than the Buddha, Devadatta, and other than the true Dharma, Devadatta's five ascetic practices are considered the path, and it is considered a division when the plumb line is accepted. Therefore, in this era, the teacher is neither alive nor accepting offerings, and it is also a time when faults have occurred in the Dharma, and it is far from the designation of being within the boundaries of appointing a dual supreme, etc. In general, such a fault is not accidental; from the division of the Sangha until reconciliation, in the realm of one teacher, none of the five paths will arise. It is said. This is because the other party spoke inconsistently, so relying on focusing on this, and the dispute of holding a grudge against it. The internal cause is attachment to self, the external cause is on top of wrongly proving the suchness of things, abandoning instructions, accompanied by downfall, and inconsistency with karma is giving, these four causes of dispute, in the root text of the pacification ritual, it says: "Manifest remembrance not mad, likewise any own-being, like spreading grasses, promises should not be made." As it is said, these are the seven pacifications. Among them, the four schools are: the Sarvāstivāda, the Mahāsāṃghika, the Sthavira, and the Saṃmitīya. Among them, the first is the lineage of the royal caste Rāhula, and the seven schools that branched out from it are: the Mūlasarvāstivāda, the Kāśyapīya, the Dharmagupta, the Bahuśrutīya.
