Ultimately, everything is seized by pure sinful intention, unmixed with virtue. The third has two aspects: black results from white actions, and white results from black actions. The first is: being unable to bear the prosperity and abundance of others, and if only one's own side gains victory, not caring even if many people lose their lives, like a plan to wage war, performing vast offering ceremonies. This causes both the maturation result and the dominant result to bring suffering, while the result similar to the cause ripens into a mixture of good and bad, with short life and great enjoyment. The second is: if applied to the conduct of a Bodhisattva, a caravan leader with great compassion kills a dark-skinned man with a short spear in order to save the lives of hundreds of merchants, which causes the maturation result to complete the accumulation of merit for hundreds of thousands of eons, and the dominant result brings happiness, but the result similar to the cause causes that even after manifest enlightenment, no one can remove the acacia thorn stuck in his foot, like taking on karma in this way. Therefore, it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: Actions accumulated will never disappear; in samsara, both black and white results will ripen. The minds of us sentient beings, whichever affliction we look at, we think that this one is the greatest. From beginningless time, due to habituation, we do not need effort or study for sinful actions. All actions are suspected of obtaining heavenly realms. Now, although the Buddha's teachings are like the rising sun, most have lost the opportunity for the holy Dharma. Like a madman harming himself, if he is happy and comfortable in this life, he does not think about sinful actions, and only harms future lives. Even if a miser is disciplined with oil calculations, he is burned by the oil on the butter skin. Even if a householder is disciplined with Dharma, no one can subdue a Dharma pretender. Although always associating with the lama and staying in the midst of the Dharma, one's own mind seems as hard and dense as hemp. Criticizing others for being slightly unvirtuous, but not seeing oneself sleeping in a pile of dog feces. Not knowing the benefits and harms of this life and the next, clear memory is dull. Therefore, one does not believe in karma and its effects.

Inspiring oneself with faith in merit occurs only occasionally among the masses. Some pretend in front of householders, some flatter companions, and some are mindful of food and drink. Because householders seem to act for the sake of comfort, happiness, and fame, purely white deeds do not take root in anyone's presence. Mixed deeds are only slightly present. Completely black deeds are very numerous. Therefore, in all circumstances, one must thoroughly examine one's own mind, have deep faith in the results of actions, and count good and evil like a Brahmin, and not accept unwholesome deeds like the poor Deva. If this is done, just as all conditioned things can be built up initially and destroyed in the end, why can't sinful actions, which can be accumulated initially, be confessed in the end? In particular, not generating a concealing mind, feeling remorse for offenses, and openly confessing is the best antidote. The sutra also says: There are two kinds of great people: those who do not fall into wrongdoing, and those who, having fallen into wrongdoing, correct it. Just as if poison enters the stomach, one must immediately seek a doctor and induce purging and vomiting, so too, in the minds of sentient beings, the cause of rebirth in the lower realms, namely karma and afflictions, remains undiminished, and even with just a slight difference in the way thoughts flow, committing sinful actions is easy even between breaths. Therefore, as an antidote, generating strong remorse for past actions is the power of repudiation; relying on the Buddhas and Lamas to confess is the power of reliance; doing prostrations, circumambulations, reciting prayers, remembering the fear of the ripening result, and all the white deeds such as Dharma practices are the power of universal application of the antidote; and the distinction of the power of turning away from offenses is: even if all the wealth of the three thousand worlds were piled up as a reward for committing sins, or if one were to cut off a tiny piece of flesh every day to give up the sacred Dharma, if someone were to say, 'Give this up, and I will stop committing sins,' one should not give it up. Because it is said: 'Even if I am burned or killed, even if my head is smashed, I will never bow down to the realm of afflictions.' That is how it is.
