Three emptinesses are established. Self-emptiness means that any dharma, its own nature is without truth. Other-emptiness means that it is designated from the aspect of that dharma not having other dharmas. Both-emptiness means that any dharma is without duality. Secondly, although the accumulation of merit does not hinder the conventional aspect of realizing the nature of reality, in the ultimate sense, realizing that all dharmas are empty in their own essence, like the sky, is the supreme path of liberation that is inseparable from the accumulation of wisdom. From the perspective of these cause and effect relationships, relying on the impure other-powered nature, one accumulates virtuous and non-virtuous actions. Because it shows that one experiences the respective results from them, it is a mistake to think that merely refraining from the ten non-virtuous actions is equivalent to practicing the ten virtuous actions. It should be understood that this is without guarding one's own mind-stream and is unpredicted. In the Garland of Middle Way, it is also extensively discussed: "One also abandons killing," and so on. Therefore, the ten non-virtuous actions should be placed on the side of guarding, and the ten virtuous actions should be placed on the side of accomplishing. The result is that the virtuous actions of the merit category, which are unrelated to the path of liberation, among the ten virtuous actions, with small virtuous actions, mainly possessing the seven aggregates of consciousness, arising in accordance with the object, the coarse consciousness arising from the dominant condition of the six senses, experiencing feelings of pleasure and pain, becoming a person who desires happiness. With medium virtuous actions, one is born as a god in the desire realm. If the ten virtuous actions are very powerful, using this as a pull, as the cause of being born there, through familiarizing oneself with the basis of the abode of Brahma and the samadhi of the earth-determination, one is born into the upper two realms. Among them, the form realm beings mainly possess the alaya consciousness and the entering-womb consciousness, while the others exist as retinues. In the formless realm, only the alaya consciousness is the main one, while the others are in a dormant state, like a state of deep sleep, there is neither virtuous action nor actual evil action, but because it is produced by the seed of ignorance in its own place, naturally accumulating great ignorance. Therefore, although the meditative mind of the formless realm is the result of previous virtuous actions, because it belongs to the virtuous actions of the merit category, it will be exhausted and then death will occur.

. Because its nature is unspecified. Since liberation and the state of omniscience are attained from the human body, it is also said to be a body superior to that of the gods. Even so, it is said in the Ratnavali: "This Dharma liberates from hells, hungry ghosts, and animals, and in the realm of gods and humans, it obtains happiness, prosperity, and the increase of royal power. Absorption, immeasurable states, and the formless realms cause Brahma and others to experience bliss." Thus, since it accomplishes higher realms and closes the doors to the lower realms, it is called the vehicle of gods and humans or the path of the lesser person. Since it is connected with the virtues that are a part of liberation, it is certain that it will lead to goodness. Generally, for those who have the potential, if a tiny root of virtue is planted as a seed, these two, as causes and conditions, will ripen in power and awaken, and there will be certainty of going to enlightenment. As it is said in the Holy Lotus Sutra: "Children who enjoy playing games, building stupas in the sand, or drawing images on walls, trees, or with their fingernails, all these will attain this supreme enlightenment." Therefore, merely seeing the Three Jewels, or hearing their names, or focusing on a stupa and joining one's palms together, or taking one step for circumambulation and service, or offering one flower or one drop of water, even if one makes a bad connection, all actions relying on the Three Jewels will turn into a part of liberation, because the object of reliance is very special. That is to say, the virtues of meritorious deeds just mentioned can project beings into higher or lower realms of existence, and the non-virtuous deeds that connect them with suffering realms such as the lower realms. When one knows that these two are without inherent existence, the virtue of being completely liberated from the causes of existence, that is, all contaminated phenomena, is the only cause of liberation. As it is said in the Compendium: "Just as a skilled carpenter or craftsman makes images of men and women, and they can do all kinds of work, so too, a Bodhisattva who is skilled in the practice of wisdom can do all kinds of work with non-conceptual wisdom." Therefore, the uncontaminated and pure cause of the part of liberation is summarized by the ten virtues, absorption, the formless realms, the six perfections such as generosity, and the five paths of accumulation, application, seeing, meditation, and no more learning. In this way, on the side of conventional truth, the accumulations of merit, the ten virtues, and the five perfections are summarized.
