Such as treatises that contradict the Dharma, and so on. In short, all that becomes a source of attachment and aversion by expressing frivolous talk, arbitrary opinions, or revelations. Similar is speaking of war and thieves, etc., unrelated to the time. Harsh speech is perfected by three branches: the basis is specifically targeting a person; the application is speaking harsh words; the ultimate is making them unhappy. Similar is applying sweet words to a situation that is actually unpleasant. The first of the three of mind is covetousness: coveting the wealth and glory of others, wanting to possess it. Similar is craving and enjoying the possessions of others. Harmful intent: arousing anger and harm towards others. Similar is meditating on separation from those who are connected by kindness. Wrong view: viewing cause and effect as non-existent, or holding to permanence or annihilation. Similar is fabricating what is not there and denying what is there. For these three aspects of mind, there are both actual and similar aspects. Covetousness is perfected by two branches: the basis is that the object of covetousness belongs to another; and arousing covetousness towards it. If we examine this with the application of a mind possessing five qualities, if the basis does not belong to another, there is no cause for covetousness. If attachment is not aroused towards it, there is no condition for covetousness. If the particularity of the object is seen, and while savoring it, it is not mentally possessed, then miserliness will not become manifest. If the mind does not exert effort, then it is not covetousness. Therefore, these four qualities are complete and innate at the moment covetousness arises. Furthermore, if wishing to obtain the happiness and fruit of higher realms in future lives by making prayers is also considered the ultimate of covetousness, then if a blind person prays to obtain eyes, that would also become covetousness, because whose eyes is he targeting? Through this reasoning, it should be understood that it creates faults in the results of virtuous actions. Also, from the Treasury [Abhidharmakosha]: "Covetousness, by wrong thought, clings to others' wealth. Harmful intent is hating sentient beings. Viewing good and non-good as non-existent. This is to view wrongly, this is it." Therefore, it is only considered coveting the wealth of similar beings in this life and mentally possessing it. If one attains the position of Brahma, Indra, etc., then their dominion and enjoyment

Therefore, who else would follow the greed of others? Furthermore, in the commentary on the "Distinguishing the Conditioned," it says: Being greedy due to anger towards listening, etc., being angry due to not liking benefit, and slandering the true spiritual friend, the Dharma, and others are in accordance with it. It means that, regarding the possessions of others, etc., thinking, "How wonderful if it were mine!" and possessing it with a miserly mind is greed. Regarding the possessions and listening, etc., of others, being unable to bear it and thinking, "How wonderful if it were under my control!" is in accordance with it. Harmful intent is perfected through two branches: the basis is sentient beings, and completely tormenting them. If its distinctions are explained in detail, it is hating or being angry with other sentient beings. For this complete torment, there are nine objects: thinking, "He has harmed me," "He is harming me," "He will harm me"; thinking, "He has harmed my friend, who is pleasing to me and whom I wish to benefit," "He is harming my friend," "He will harm my friend"; thinking, "He has benefited my enemy, who is displeasing to me, whom I dislike, whom I wish to harm, and whom I do not wish to benefit," "He is benefiting my enemy," "He will benefit my enemy." From the perspective of being connected with past grudges, through the conceptualization of the three states of past, present, and future, from the distinction of anticipating and inferring afterwards: towards the harmer, a mind of hatred that is extremely unpleasant; repeatedly remembering grudges, a mind of anger; towards this, a mind of pride that is extremely unbearable; thinking, "How wonderful if I could kill or beat him!" a mind of miserliness; being overwhelmed by shame and faults, a mind of ignorance—this is indeed in accordance with the five dharmas. The aspects in accordance with harmful intent are: not liking benefit, gathering evil, and cultivating separation from goodness. Wrong view is perfected through two branches: the basis is the opposite of what is, namely, the certainty that the law of cause and effect is unfailing; and the opposite of thought, namely, the wrong view of certainly thinking that the results of virtue and non-virtue do not exist, and the views of permanence and annihilation. The aspects in accordance with wrong view are: hating the Dharma and special individuals, and those who are ignorant, the results of virtue and vice have not ripened in this lifetime; for those who have accumulated powerful karma, they are temporarily in a state of happiness.
