First, from the state of the fundamental nature of all things, which is like the sky, the winds of ignorance and conceptualization gather, and the water of desire becomes stable. From the essence of the parents' blood, a body like Mount Sumeru is formed, eyes like the sun and moon, sense bases like the four continents and subcontinents, the twelve realms, the eight consciousness aggregates with the seven mountains and environment, and the six chakras corresponding to the six realms. These also appear in various ways such as happiness and suffering, just as their different places and kinds, and this great thousandfold world within, also in the same way as the destruction of the outer world, when the time of death comes, the outer four elements are absorbed into the inner four elements, the seven fires and one water, the eight are dissipated, and the inner and secret elements are absorbed into the original clear light, and everything becomes one space. Like this, the four elements of the body are gathered, the seven fires that exhaust the three channels, drops, and winds, and the one water that transfers life, are destroyed by the wind that cuts off the breath connection, body and mind separate, and the body is also destroyed by the harm of the elements into indivisible dust, and nothing exists, contemplate this. The second common topic has four aspects: contemplating the holy being as impermanent, contemplating the lord of beings as impermanent, contemplating the nature of death as impermanent, and contemplating various metaphors and meanings as impermanent. The first is: Even the supreme Vajra body of the teacher of gods and humans, is veiled by the view of permanence, the service free from destruction becomes lax, and he manifests the realization of delight in the realm of peace. It is said, like this, from the Buddha Vipashyin to the seven generations up to Shakyamuni, and the one thousand and two Buddhas who will come in this Fortunate Aeon up to Mopa, and the solitary Buddhas who appeared in between, just by manifesting in the pure lands of emanation, the Vajra body also enters into manifesting the realization of destruction, and the teachings of the Buddhas also have endless sequences of rise and fall, our bodies are like bubbles, and the mind is the nature of illusion, so how can there be a state of permanence even at the beginning and end of the day? As Ashvagosha said: If the bodies of the Buddhas, adorned with marks and signs
English
Gyenpa. If even the vajra body is impermanent, what need is there to mention other sentient beings who are like trees in water without essence? Thus it is said. The Lord of Joy said: Form, enjoyment, learning, discipline, and so on are not permanent. Even those who are free from desire are not seen to be permanently abiding. Thus it is said. Second, having accomplished meditation and bearing the burden of abiding for an eon, seeing that death comes without meaning, even Brahma, Ishvara, Sukhasambhava, and the Wheel-turning Kings do not contemplate a way to escape from the clutches of the Lord of Death. Those who have accomplished worldly meditation, from the peak of existence who can live for eighty thousand great eons, to the gods of the fourth dhyana in succession, those who live from eon to eon also follow after their karma, and there is a time of death when they are not devoured by demons. Therefore, Brahma, Ishvara, Vishnu, Indra, the four Lokapalas, the great sage Vyasa, and the cave-dwelling sage, etc., who possess the qualities of wisdom, eyes, and clairvoyance, and the Wheel-turning Kings who rule over the four continents, etc., who are pervaded by the fame of merit and glory, and who are proud and arrogant with the excellence of wealth, even they do not contemplate a way to escape from death before they are satisfied. In the Vinaya Sutra it is said: O monks, look at these riches that are decaying and without essence. In my past remembered cycles, I have experienced countless powers of Brahma, Indra, and the Lokapalas, etc., but I have passed away before I was satisfied and have fallen into the lower realms. And as it is said in the letter called "Eliminating Sorrow": If there is a reversed perception of permanence, then even beings from the peak of existence will be drawn by the noose of death, like an elephant by a noose. Experiencing the bliss born of meditation, even Brahma falls from the realm of Brahma, because of impermanence, like the edge of a pool of water. Indra and the thousand gods, and the hundred Wheel-turning Kings, will become subject to death, like a burning lamp extinguished by the wind. The great sages with five clairvoyances, and those who travel far in the sky, wherever there is a realm of immortality, they are not able to go there. Thus it is said. Third, the heavenly medicinal garden, filled with delightful scenery.
